When hiking between Sunnegga and Zermatt, right in the middle there's a perfect spot to relax, eat, and watch the Matterhorn in all its glory. I ordered a cappuccino just to have an excuse to be there. For my surprise, the food that came after was delicious. Just imaging, after hiking for almost an hour, to find that peace, quiet... More

The definite Swiss experience of a hut in the mountains. Homey vibes, tasty food and stunning views. Suggest trying their hot chocolate and chocolate cake.

We stopped off for some mulled wine and snacks on the way down the mountain. Everything was so good we stayed until after dark and had to ski the rest of the way down after the snow cats had already groomed the slopes! The owners run a salmon fishing outfit in Alaska during the summer and this place during the... More

Cozy atmosphere, excellent food espesially lachs and fish soup, Matterhorn view and roe deers walking around. It was very delicious and relaxing lunch at the slope #2 from Sunnega to Zermatt!

Othmar's is super neat. We stopped here for coffee on our way down for last day of skiing, should I find my way back to Zermatt I will definitely make sure to come back for a meal. The restaurant itself is a work of great care - the owners clearly take great pride in their establishment. Its just a fun... More

We go to this place several times a year and we always come to the same conclusion: it is great and different! As the owners spend their summers in Alaska the menu offers many different combinations of dishes (pasta, röstis, etc) with salmon. The salmon is outstanding and the cook does a great job in combining everything with this fish.... More

Excellent salmon tartar or king crabs from Alaska. The owner lives there during the summer and in winter, you can enjoy these specialities in Zermatt.

After hiking from Sunnega, we really needed a break. Our legs where aching our stomachs where rumbling. Then all of a sudden this quaint Swiss style structure loomed in front of us. Before you could say schnapps, we where seated ready to be wined and dined. This lovely young girl made us feel right at home and we sat down... More

This cosy mountain hut is operated by a couple who spend winters in Zermatt, and summers in Alaska. This translates into the cuisine, with the specialty being Wild Alaska Salmon based dishes. Food is very good, and contrary to some reviews below we found the service to be both friendly and attentive.

In addition to running a truly unique and wonderful restaurant in the Alps the owners also run a fishing camp in Alaska. The mix of the two makes for a unique menu and dining experience. Food, service and setting combine to make this a very special place. Don't miss it!!
