We thouroughly enjoyed this traditional swiss restaurant in Zermatt. The cozy atmosphere was just one of the things to be enjoyed in this hidden corner of the town. The place was a meat place, although we also enjoyed raclette servings and great soups for our entrees. We didn't have room for desserts. I would certainly recommend this restaurant!!!

What a great place for dinner. It rivals the Michelin-starred restaurants we went to on this trip. The braised lamb was out of this world. The wine list is very reasonable and full of delicious wine. (We had a great local cab franc). Warm service. Can't recommend highly enough!

I had a very nice meal here alone in late July. The atmosphere is super cozy and very 'Swiss' decorated. For my entree I had a petite filet of lamb which was very nicely cooked. Accompanied by potatoes and vegetables. The service was a little slow but I think on purpose (I wasn't being ignored).

I took there today my mom for a dinner and it was simply awesome. The food, desert, wine, really friendly people... And the atmosphere - just amazing. We felt they really cared about us. I have to go to Zermatt at least once more to enjoy that experience again. Btw. I found out the lady who runs this restaurant climbed... More

This restaurant had a really fun ambience and has some fantastic food. The wait staff was attentive. I recommend the dried lamb appetizer!

The atmosphere was really cool...my wife really loved the place. The food was very good...no complaints. You might ask to be a little farther from the open fire...it was a tick "warm" where we were sitting (although it was neat to watch this guy gill meat).

This is a great spot to go for fondue. Our hotel recommended it to us and we were quite pleased with the quality of the food. We ordered cheese fondue, beef fondue and also a lamb knuckle. The lamb was incredibly tender and well-prepared. The fondue was very good, though I would recommend ordering a cheese fondue for the table... More

Right in the centre of town from all the hotels is the Restaurant Schaferstube. The first thing you will notice is the coziness of this restaurant, located inside the Julen Hotel. The restaurant itself is on the small side and gets booked up very fast so I would recommend a reservation a few hours beforehand. And the food. Absolutely wonderful.... More

Cool restaurant, fun decor, and our server, Danielle, was fantastic! Each of us tried a different lamb dish. I really enjoyed the lamb entrecote, my father's lamb knuckle was so tender and fell off the bone, but my mom's grilled lamb loin was disappointing. The other two dishes made up for it. We also asked for Danielle to suggest a... More

Tried their homemade cheese portion raclette.. Awesomely great cheese. Must tried their red wine - cornalin st.theodule. Our main is the grilled lamb loin and sausage from the grill where the side is served individually if sharing. Definately a must visit restaurant if you're in zermatt
