We were walking around beautiful Zermatt and we decided to stop in this restaurant because of the good reviews on tripadvisor. The place is very small but with cozy atmosphere. At the entrance we were received by the owner which was friendly and got us a table as we did not have a reservation. The place was almost full. Speciality... More

We had yet another great evening in Zermatt at the Le Gitan Grill. If you look at my other reviews, this was our 2nd favorite in the town of Zermatt. The staff were a lot of fun (very friendly) and that helped have a special night. Food was also very good...probably a tick below great (therefore 4-stars).

I had just amazing lamb with herbs here--and my wife loved her pasta, too. The restaurant specializes in grilled meats and it was terrific. A great wine list, too. Sophisticated but warm and friendly, and great service, as fast or as slow as you wanted.

We ate at Le Gitan Grill on the Friday night we arrived in Zermatt. Due to a late train we were running a little late but the restaurant managed to fit us in just before the kitchen closed at 21:30. The restaurant is small and cozy and has a very traditional Swiss style. The food is delicious. We both had... More

Le Gitane is a favourite as their meat quality is very good. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and a cosy interior that is authenticly Swiss without being kitsch.

My husband, 10 year old daughter and I ate at Le Gitan on April 2, 2016. The ambiance is quite charming and clearly steeped in history. We loved the big open hearth where the chef grills the meat and seafood. When we were greeted at reception by a waiter, he asked if he could hang our coats in the foyer.... More

It was as described. Nice food, nice wine, potatoes 'ogratten' as much as we like! Try the bead on a stick, this must be their specialty! We left really satisfied.

The sizzling “holzfeuer” is the centrepiece of Le Gitan, creating an immediate warm and welcoming atmosphere at the forefront of the restaurant. You can wet your appetite by watching all the action from your table; our chef prepares all our grills over the wood fire. Specialities include lamb, prawns, beef and spit-roasted chicken tarragon.
