In a town with many wonderful restaurants, Le Gitan grill stands out. The rack of lamb is simply sublime as is the whole chicken for two. The scalloped potatoes are so good, I'd go here just for them. Coupled with a good wine list, a warm cosy atmosphere and fabulous staff, this place is one of the best. Watching the... More

Great environment, nice food and welcoming staff. I tried tomato soup, lamb carpaccio, potato gratin with pork sausage. Good choice for dinner in Zermatt!

My husband & I chose to go to this restaurant without knowing anything about it, except reading the menu out the front, we were both very impressed. The restaurant was very intimate, service was great and the food was above our expectations, particularly the snails we had for entree and the white & dark chocolate mousse we had for dessert.... We went with a group of 6 in the first seating. We tried of course the classics like scampi, chicken and the filet. The scampis had been total dry. And the "hit" the gratin was not tasting at all!!! And the gitan gratin was for me in earlier days one of the best in the world. We tried also several... More

Our hotel recommended Le Gitan Grill for Lamb grilled over an open fire, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is very intimate and cozy with an awesome wood burning grill in the center. The grilled Lamb and the service was fantastic. We arrived at 6:30PM for the early seating and the restaurant quickly filled up. We had a nice... More

We were a group of 21 people ranging from 6 year old to 40+.... Once we arrived at the restaurant they had arranged 2 tables next to each other for us. I have ordered Foie Gras as starter and my wife had ordered the Snails and both were very good. The main course I had the Steak which was perfectly... More

This is a hot off the press review, in that we have just returned to our hotel from eating at Le Gitan Grill. Firstly, we had asked for a recommendation from the hotel concierge as on our previous visit to Zermatt in 2015 we found that eating out was hit and miss. Well. Well well well. We were seated right... More

The sizzling “holzfeuer” is the centrepiece of Le Gitan, creating an immediate warm and welcoming atmosphere at the forefront of the restaurant. You can wet your appetite by watching all the action from your table; our chef prepares all our grills over the wood fire. Specialities include lamb, prawns, beef and spit-roasted chicken tarragon.
