A retreat and a nice meal

We visited Lugano on a busy night when a festival was on. We were searching for somewhere not too expensive (which is challenging is Switzerland!!) and...which had a table. Give the busy night we were lucky. Up an alley we find a sign; read the menu and thought it would be fine. It was... read more

The nice little restaurant is located in a small spot in Lugano, When you enter and go down the steps you will be welcome with a typical ambience of the state Ticino. The food is delicios.

We visited this restaurant during a one-day trip to Lugano based on the good reviews on TripAdvisor hoping the price range would accommodate to our needs (specially bringing along foreign guests). Important: be aware that the restaurant is located in the cellar of a building. I don’t recall seeing any elevators so going down the stairs might be a problem... More

Authentic regional Italian - very rustic decor and food. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. None needed however, as we were the only people there. The food was very tasty and good value for Switzerland, where prices are usually exorbitant. I had the polenta with seasonal mushroom sauce and my husband had the ravioli. They were both off the... I live in Lugano since many years and went frequently to this restaurant, but recently took guests there and after my last experience there....they have lost my business for good !! The quality was poor and they charged me an outrageous price for a starter plate of cheese....rip off !!!!

The server quickly admitted he didn’t speak English. The service was fine - not overly friendly but good and prompt - and the food was exquisite. Slow cooked real food. My husband had pork knuckle and chard and potatoes. My daughters had chicken and veggies and potatoes w/rosemary. I had a salad and stole samples of chicken, pork, and potato... More

Quiet, not far from Piazza de la Reforma, had a nice choice of authentic Ticinese cuisine and decent wine selection. We chose a Merlot from Ticino which paired well with our entrees. Very good service.

Located on an undergroud floor, it has a cosy atmosphere and a taste of a home made food. The Osso bucco with polenta was deliciuos and so was the macaroni. The wine was very nice too.

Visited this restaurant as it had good reviews and was a short walk from our hotel in Lugano. It proved to be a great decision. Restaurant is cosy - downstairs, with a low dark wood ceiling and white walls. Staff were immediately friendly and receptive. Food is very good and local Ticino style which means there is not a wide... More

We came to,Lugano for an evening, staying in lago maggiore. We found this place through trip advisor. Based in a cellar, so bit hard to find, but worth it. We enjoyed the food, starters very good with tasty ravioli. The ossobuko with risotto was simply delicious, chicken with rice and roast beef all excellent. Deserts wonderful. Lovely staff, very accommodating... More
