We ordered beef tatare and 2 different pastas and everything was just great!
Very kind service and nice location!
Too bad the restaurant was quite empty giving a bit of a weird atmosphere.
I'll come back for sure!
Here I feel home, that's why I don't have any photo of their marvelous plates... to me Monna Lisa is= always a perfect risotto. Rajiv and Suhrya are just perfect, so friendly, always welcoming they "encourage" you to come back!! for a lunch, dinner or...simply for a coffee!! Apart of great risotto ( last but not least with porcini the day before yesterday) you have always a great selection of plates, not to say their desserts, varying from cheesecake to latte in piedi (bianco mangiare siciliano rivisitato). I really recommend it, now they have a lot of news, last but not least a big thanks to Elisa, always smiling!👍👍More
I first discovered Monna Lisa through a work colleague. I was surprised at how spacious and bright it was. Lugano being a small town most of the restaurants here are tiny and dark, not here. It's also decorated very elegantly I must say.
The food...is amazing, it's seasonal and fresh. They change the menu regularly enough that you don't get bored of eating the same things, which is a pet peeve of mine. There's nothing worst than watching your enthusiasm for a restaurant die after a few visits because you've already tried everything on the menu.
But above all, I really have to mention the owners (managers?) of the restaurant. They are exceedingly welcoming, in a very warm and non fake way. They genuinely love their job and it shows. They are also very knowledgable when it comes to food, wine or even the arts. There's a reason customers keep coming back to Monna Lisa. Thank you for always making me feel welcome!
I highly recommend it if you're ever in Lugano. Prices are reasonable too (it is Switzerland).
I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting the owners of this wonderful corner of Lugano, a brother and sister combination who are unparalleled in their warmth, politeness, and attentiveness.
The young staff is well-presented, friendly, and knowledgeable. The menu is very accommodating and well...thought-out, offering an interesting take on fine cuisine at unfathomably reasonable prices.
As a native Londoner, I was most surprised at the honesty of this establishment -nothing is contrived. In a city where perhaps everything tries a little bit too hard to imitate something from elsewhere, I found a place that treads to perfection the fine line between a causal space and fine dining.
I am rarely impressed. But for Monna Lisa, I'll make an exception.More
