It's a great place with charm and history. Goode olde Lugano. The selection of cakes and other sweets is "too much".

Needing a mid-morning lift, we entered this cafe because of the enticing desserts displayed in the window. The lady behind the pastry counter smiled warmly and graciously answered all our questions regarding the different treats we were interested in. I had the hardest time deciding, until the lady asked me if I liked chocolate. Because of my immediate positive response,... More

Wonderful old world style cafe to come in from the rain. The cafe corretto hits the spot when it's cold and rainy outside. Yummy hot chocolate. And let's not forget the delicious and beautiful pastries! Do try the black forrest cake.

Located at the city center, this place (established in 1803 and played a role at the end of WW2) is a must try for anyone traveling to Lugano. The coffee, cakes & pastries are of the finest quality and it would be good to visit the cafe after a morning of walking around the city and the nearby Lake. I... More

This place is popular with locals and the more upscale tourists. Located on a very elegant pedestrian street. Excellent for a coffee and pastry, or lunch. There is also a quieter upstairs restraint upstairs that is very elegant and beautiful.

This centuries old location in the center of the old city serves very fine pastries and terrific coffees in a relaxed but classy atmosphere. The pastries are old world delicacies that should not be missed. They can be taken away, but it is best to sit and savor -- service, while a little stiff, is friendly and responsive. Prices are... We dropped by while on a city trip for some soup and salad and were very pleasantly surprised. I strongly recommend visiting the place if you happen to be in town!

We had spotted this picturesque café during an earlier visit to Lugano, but it was on this occasion that we decided to have our dessert-coffee here. They have a patisserie section for take away and a big dining room for guests. The service was exquisite, fast and charming, and we got a table within minutes. Decoration is warm and charming,... The place look quite traditional and classy but it wasn't as good as it seem... The cake ladies at the counter were nice and friendly but the male waiters weren't nice and friendly at all... We ordered a cappuccino and a hot chocolate these were not good at all .... they were also not hot ... The pastries were just... More

We were queuing as asked and when our turn came up we were told by the lady serving the bread behind the counter (who has nothing to do with attending) that we had to let other people by as she insisted they had asked her....we cannot say we were treated fairly as the method of preference instead of fairness was...
