We ate at Pizzeria Sapori in September of this year and enjoyed our food. Given that the hotel is attached to a quite expensive hotel we were pleasantly surprised at the fair prices, given also the central location and quality of the food.
All the signs were unpromising: late arrival, no booking, tables full, extremely upmarket surroundings, posh looking menu, pricey Switzerland - but what a treat: friendly welcome, finding us the last table and making no fuss about the time of the evening. Very original pizza and...pasta, all the classics but all with an original twist, and the dishes we chose - see below - were like nothing we'd tried before. Everything was excellent, and at very reasonable prices. Late as it was we were never made to feel rushed and all service - from the maître d' onwards - came with a friendly smile. They were happy for us to wander around afterwards and enjoy the impressive historic building and decorations. In summary - don't be intimidated by the upmarket ambience and just go with the flow. The food simply can't disappoint.More
We went to Sapori for lunch today and the food was fine. Unfortunately our experience was marred by the most unpleasant maître d’ we’ve encountered. He was incredibly brusque and rude. We even watched him yell at a family who dared to inquire about a...children’s menu. They left upset. We left unhappy as well given the poor treatment we received. If management is reading this, your maître d’ for your patio at lunchtime on Saturday, 15 August who wears glasses and has brown hair needs to be re-trained so that he does not ruin other customers’ visits.More
We had wonderful dishes, good whine, perfect service, until they came at 14u30 after we ate 2 dishes, drank a magnum wine etc.. The manager was too afraid to tell us to leave, after his maid, the waitresses, told us it was time.. While one...of us was still eating.. With all the respect, but we can’t accept this kind of behaviour. The website told us we could have a reservation until 13u30. I asked if it was normal they could accept a reservation at 13u30 & that we leave 30min later? Silly.. We had to leave the restaurant after one of us was still eating and we were still drinking wine, What is this respect? The manager doesn’t have the balls to tell us what we did wrong and came with the story we had to look on the website, we did, it was written reservation from 11u till 14u, so we had to guess that at 14u it was closed, help me if I am wrong.. This restaurant, with beautiful dishes, great wine, comes out as a shame.. If you kick us out like this, with all tho respect, you’re not worthy the likes or score you want us to give..
Last of all, the last one was eating, but they decided to take away all our dishes, giving us the feeling to leave, very disrespectful, especially after they asked us to have a desert somewhere else.. Our last person was still eating while they cleaned whole table, I mean,.. What are we doing? Do you still have respect for the table? We bought a magnum wine, but for them it didn’t matter. My last words are said. I hope you have a better experience than
40 minutes between ordering Pizza and time to get them on the table... is this serious?
Restaurant is ok for medium level type of customers who think they have a standing but are not having any clue on what could be a proper restaurant...
An absolutely fabulous restaurant, perhaps the best one in Interlaken. The Italian dishes are excellent from pizza to pasta to fish and meat. Excellent wine selection. Great service (not something that’s easy to find in Switzerland). Sitting outside is very nice and the atmosphere inside...is great. Love this placeMore
I spent two evenings in this restaurant, and both were very satisfying. The first night we tried the cuisine, and enjoyed very good Italian fresh food, while the second we went for a pizza (real napolitan style) which was really delicious, with fresh ingredients. Excellent...service. Prices aligned with swiss standard (for a medium/high quality restaurant)More
