I had been walking around the city all day after taking the train from Zurich and was craving something from back home. I spotted this cafe and just had to go for it. The server was very pleasant and spoke English very well. I had...a chicken burger with fries that hit the spot perfectly after eating local cuisine for weeks on this European vacation. I enjoyed the food, company and people watching out the window.More
We walked past this casual bar cum restaurant and we were drawn to the retro California diner style set up. Great selection of beers. We had dinner there. It's pub food and very generous serves and we loved our meals. Quick service and reasonably priced...too. Very friendly staff - Renarta made us feel most welcome. A great little place to just sit and take in the atmosphere.More
My partner and I stopped in here after visiting Mount Pilatus, while on a short break in the area. This was an enjoyable and relaxing stop after a long day and provided a good (and wide) selection of beers and burgers. It was easy to...get something vegetarian, tasted pretty good and we didn't feel like we were breaking the bank (unlike most restaurants in Switzerland!). I'd recommend it for a chilled and (proportionately) not-too-expensive meal in Lucerne.More
This place has great atmosphere done out in true California diner style complete with stools and all the posters. Food is very good and well priced. Burgers, steaks, pizza, pasta etc. and over 100 beers available!! What more could you want? Staff is friendly. We...went there two nights in a row.More
Decorated a bit like a Hard Rock Café, only considerably smaller, this restaurant had probably the broadest selection of beers we encountered during two weeks in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, so if you are on Untappd, or just like to try new beers, this is...the place for you. Also, for the reviewer complaining about the price of water: just about any experienced traveler could have warned them that bottled water in pretty much any Western European restaurant would cost almost as much, or the same as a soft drink or a beer. Tap water MIGHT be available on request, for free, but it is normally considered very gauche to request it, as you are occupying a table that other paying customers might otherwise occupy who are paying for their beverages. Not meant to be a criticism of the reviewer, nor a dismissal of the very nice advantage of ice water in the U.S. - I ALWAYS request water, with or without a beer, at home. This is just a notable cultural difference, but one I can understand and gracefully tolerate.More
On a sweltering day, for three bottles of water at the bar, we were charged 15 CHF. I dread to think what a meal would have cost.
NB Another bar nearby claimed not to know what 'tap water' was. Welcome to Switzerland!
