The restaurant is deemed traditional Italian but I missed the quality of the food. The restaurant is lovely and the staff are friendly but the meat was cold and the appetizers didn't taste much like anything.

We ate here on our first night in Lucerne because it was very close to our hotel. I had the gnocchi and my partner had chicken cooked in beer. We both found our food to be very salty - I managed to finish mine but my partner struggled with the chicken dish. Overall I'd rate the food we had as... More

A hidden gem in the historical heart of Luzern. Nice waiters, delicious house wine and very well price/quality balanced. All pasta has been house-made.

Delightful evening in this hidden upstairs restaurant off the ancient alley connecting WineMarkt to the river. Lasagna and gnocchi were tasty; the dinner was not rushed; bread was a flavorful, crusty cross between Italian and German, made in-house. The wine recommended by the owner was perfect to go with our meal and can be ordered in the quantity needed. Excellent... More

While visiting Lucerne we found this out of the way Italian bistro. My husband had pasta pescatore; full of seafood...wonderful flavor. I had the fusilli gamberetti....shrimp with al dente pasta....the best I've had. Others in our party had pizza...also healthy portions. Quiet, cozy atmosphere....would visit again.....

We had a lovely evening in this restaurant. We had already tried one Italian Restaurant in Lucerne which was full when we came accross a sign for La Gondola. We did not know what we were walking into as you have to go down an alleyway then up some stairs to enter the restaurant. It turns out it is a... More

We have had a chance to eat lunch at La Gondola - salad, steak for myself and pasta for my wife + small cakes for desserts. This was very well priced for Switzerland and well executed throughout. Service is below average for Lucerne - the waiter was a bit slow, also left some dirty dishes on the tables outside for... More

We enjoyed very good food and excellent service on a Sunday evening at La Gondola. We both had pastas with shrimp and a delicious ice cream dessert. It has an entrance that is a little obscure, inside a small covered area and next to a medieval wall. Climb one flight of stairs, and the decor is very pretty and servers... More

We picked La Gondola as it is away from the large crowds in the restaurants around the Lake and we ate lunch outside in the beautiful Weinmarkt square. We both had pasta, which was delicious. The service was pleasant and fast. Truly one of the best meals we had in Switzerland along with the best service.
