This was truly fine dining right at the edge of the river from which lake Lucerne runs out. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable

Rooms are stunning although very hot. Fan provided ,the Swiss do not have at conditioning probably due to the age of buildings. We have had to persevere with the heat ...30 deg plus and humidity. The restaurant by the water is first class and creative. It is a treat well worth experiencing. The views are stunning.

Excellent food, though not cheap. We had one lunch here and should have had more meals here. Service good despite all the outdoor tables being filled.

We had a cheese fondue at the Restaurant Fritschi, a house that was built I believe in the 1600's. It is located downtown in the old part of Lucerne. The best cheese fondue I have had ever!

We had lunch here on a rainy day, and by the time we were done, the sun had come out and we all were absolutely delighted with our meals. Staff was outstanding, location is incredible, and we'd tell all our friends to go here without hesitation!

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel - so we walked over & luckily got a table. We were greeted warmly & promptly received Proseca my favorite Italian bubbly. I had the appetizer sampler ( see picture) it was divine. My friend had the basil risotto -- she gave it a high 5. It is nice that many of the... More

Visited for our Wedding Anniversary. Excellent food & very good hospitality too. Everything was spot on from the booking process, to the table we were given, the food we enjoyed & the excellent waitress. Creativity & execution of the food consistently amongst the best in Lucerne.

We had a delicious meal sitting outside by the water with a view of Chapel Bridge and a cool breeze after a long warm day of walking. The drinks and food were delicious - not inexpensive but fresh and tasty. The views were lovely so we took pictures whilst we were sitting!

Wonderful evening dining at a table beside the water. Ordered the daily four course meal which was great. Each dish was beautifully prepared. Enjoyed a good Pinot Gris wine.

In Balances restaurant, Luzern, head chef Andy Fluri creates culinary masterpieces with great success. This master chef, who has been awarded 14 points by the prestigious Gault-Millau guide, takes his guests on a flight of fancy for the taste buds, with delicacies such: as cream of parmesan soup with basil Espuma and beef fillet steak carpaccio; braised veal cheeks in a truffle jus, served with a potato and onion mash and savoy bacon; or dumplings filled with chocolate and nuts, accompanied by apple mousse with sour cream and banana ice cream. All meals are prepared with only market fresh produce and everything is produced according to the season. Guests are welcomed with historic flair, which is also in keeping with modern design and makes for a stylish establishment decorated in warm, natural tones. This extraordinary ambience is even more enhanced by the terrace, which looks directly on to the Reuss, which sets the mood not only for the romantics, but for all diners, as there is a sense of being on the Venecian Grand Canal.
