The chef is a great person, but his wife, the manager has a terrible sense of humor. Make no jokes, don't complain about the food... she will not restate to ask you to go somewhere else and leave "her restaurant". The food is Good, but...the manager can be rude sometimes.More

First of all you need to understand that this is not a classic restaurant with menu and services, of course there is a menu but the owner cooks what she likes and what she find best to serve. To be prepared it is better to...call her and ask what you want. This restaurant is the extension of the family kitchen. The food is amazing and Marie Jo (I agree that the attitude can be strange the first time) is super nice, we feel that she loves to share what she loves to do - cooking. She has her temper, I agree but after experiencing few times, you realize that you come for the food but also to have a chat with her, she is the saoul of the place.More

We had a positive experience here, finding the place by chance during a Sunday-walk in the Geneva Countryside. The place is nothing fancy or elegant, but it offers an enjoyable terrace in front of which you have basically no-traffic, because nobody seems driving in Gy...on Sunday lunch time. The owner (I have read different pov here in TA) can look like grumpy, but with us she has been very nice, friendly with our son and very accommodating with the little modifications we asked to the proposed dishes. The food was good and the bill balanced with what we had (and the average of the Geneva prices). We will go back if we are in the area. But it's not the place we will drive to for dinner.More

You can find plenty of reviews which corroborate (unfortunately) my review The worst review I wrote. I am embarrassed to have to write this but it is true. If the city of Gy reads this they must stop this now. This person is aggressive, impolite,...gross, inelegant, arrogant. A very unhappy human being who is in need of therapy. It is not even funny. We came without a booking on a Sunday restaurant was empty. She said she was not sure she had food left for us as we did not book. No menus handed no prices told we went for two dishes. During the whole meal she complained loudly to other guest who had booked how on earth could people come and eat without a reservation. She said she would not cook a cake as she would not want to throw it away if people had not booked it in advance. I am utterly shocked by this level of service. This person cannot be Swiss. She made jokes about the Swiss being slow (when her card machine took time to approve the amount). Food was ok no more Avoid this place until she moves on and is replaced by a decent person.More

Loved the chicken dish we had! Great service and the price was standard! It was a lovely day and not overly crowded!

Upon arrival, fairly friendly personnel. Owner (Elder lady) comes out being a bit bossy, which we accepted as an older people can be a bit bossy at times :-) So we sustained in being friendly and having a conversation, which went fairly OK. Menu came,...we chose, got a salad in advance and after that got the dish. Dish was basic food on a smoking hot plate - straight from the oven but had been held warm in it for too long: chicken filet was dried out, green beans visibly dried out and sauce visibly dried out (with "bumps" in it). Taste was not bad, just much too salty. Worst part when the bill came: 5 CHF per person for the 'couvert' (nowhere written), 10CHF added for the tap water served 'carafe d'eau). Really felt cheated upon, in particular because the locals who arrived after us all got proposed something not on the menu- likely at much better prices...More

we set out on a short bicycle ride towards Anières on this lovely Sunday morning. As it was meant to be short, we didn’t take any food, expecting to be back in time for lunch. The sun, the blue skies and the bright spring green,...lured us on and on, so by lunch time we found ourselves in Jussy, 11 kilometers away from home and starving. The hostess at the auberge there informed us dryly that if we didn’t have a reservation we could forget about having lunch there, so we set off back towards Gy, hoping for better luck at the Auberge we had passed on the way. Unlike the first place, here we were welcomed warmly. We were then informed that we would be getting duck confit for lunch. And so we did. It was great, as were the service and the relaxed friendly atmosphere. I think next time, we just might not take lunch with us again.More

fair meals & family-style service. We've went there during our long walk at countryside. Nice place, very local. It was a day of public holiday, they only had a daily menu. We've chosen marinated herring as starter (it was fresh & good, though the taste...was quite sweet, which was somewhat strange). I took duck confit as main dish (it was good), my husband preferred fish (fera) - it was good too. Tart de pruneau (plum cake) was also tasty, coffee was good. Menu costs 50 fr per person, service is friendly but slow (which is typical for this type of places) - people are mainly local, they go to the restaurant to talk & enjoy their time for longer then we usually do: ) my conclusion: it's a nice place if you are in neighborhood, but probably I would not go there deliberately: )More
