Visitors from Canada wanted "cheese" fondu and raclette on a Sunday in Geneva and this place filled the bill wonderfully. Fondu with cognac was the best. We ate in the chalet side of the restaurant a bit touristy but food and wine made up for...More

There are few real swiss dishes, so this place, with like 80's style decor and simple menu actually is what it should be. Don't expect complicated meals, but the fondue (cheese or meat) are generous. And it all boils down to going in a group...More

This restaurant has a very old-fashioned feel, but in a dated way. The service was acceptable, the house red wine was a bit tart, and the food was edible but rather bland. The dessert menu consists solely of Carte D'Or frozen desserts, which was disappointing....More

With a great atmosphere, Cave Valaisanne really fill our measures of what we expected of a swiss restaurant. The room was very cosy and the waiters very friendly. We ate fondue bourguignon and raclettes and everything was excelent. The peach ice cream with liquor summed...More

Description
The cellar restaurant Valaisanne & Chalet Switzerland, Dumoulin family owned since 1960, is located in the heart of the city of Geneva, surrounded by the Victoria Hall, the Grand Theatre, the Music Conservatory, the Bastions Park and its monument Reformation. This has the distinction of offering typical and 4 different settings: Swiss Chalet, Brasserie, Swiss Village and Carnotzet. Added to this is during the summer, the terrace shaded by plane trees. So every customer does not feel squashed in the middle of the large crowd. The high flow ensures the best quality and freshness of the dishes served. Swiss wines are honored and come, mostly French-speaking cantons. La Cave Valais is known for its many types of fondue and raclette especially raw milk. What is less known is that the card is one of the most varied and provided our beloved Geneva basin. Although logically say typical specialties take center stage, there remains many specialties and bar meals made the reputation of the institution (sauerkraut zürcher geschnetzeltes home with rosti, etc ...) . Not to mention that the two dishes of the day are served at lunchtime are renewed every day and served with a green salad or homemade soup (your choice). Through our various salads into our pasta dishes, menus or stopping on our perch fillets, the supply is diversity in appointments and everything is cooked by a skilled team.
