This very appealing Brasserie, clearly in line of the French Tradition, offers excellent meat dishes and wines served on elegant tables covered with white linen table clothes. The Roquefort Feuilleté was superb, crispy and tasty, as was the kidney in the mustard sauce (à la dijonnaise) accompaigned with delicious rösti (roasted shreded potatoes). The "tarte tattin" (caramelized apple pie) was... More

Good and varied choice of food on offer although limited for vegetarians. Wine selection was comprehensive and an impressive sweet trolley. The menu is language specific so you need to ask what the daily specials are if you request anything other than the German menu. We'll worth visiting

Spent a wonderful time enjoying dinner at Brasserie Barengraben. Our host, Guido was very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. Meal was of a high standard and the wines Guido suggested complimented the meal. A great experience to enhance the memories of our stay in this beautiful historical city.

Not such a great experience. Understaffed with uninspired fare. Menus were not up to date, so confusion reigned - unclear what was actually being offered.....Food-mediocre and staff not particularly helpful. Seemed our party was a bother. Should have left after 20 minutes with no staff to the table, not even with a menu....In short, maybe worth a walk up the... More

We were not impressed with the service. The waitress that worked on Sunday morning was rude and not welcoming.

Simple restaurant, but good food. (on the way out, look into the kitchen - it is amazingly small. I have no idea how they manage to produce such good food in such a small space! We had a lovely lunch on the outdoor terrace. Based on my patented bread test (the standard of the bread is indicative of the meal... More

This is my recommendation for great and fresh French cuisine in Berne. The restaurant is very cute and cosy. I was most impressed by the very attentive and uncomplicated service.

Just happened upon this quaint little French restaurant right at the bridge leading to Bern. Crowded with locals - which is always a good sign - we felt lucky to get a table for lunch. The mussels were great - prepared in different sauces and can be purchased "per piece". Also enjoyed the lamb, house-made raviolis, and the duck breast.... More

I had an interesting bouillabaisse that was very tasty. The service was wonderful. The restaurant was crowded. It is across from the Barengraben.

I haven't been in a long time to the Brasserie, last weekend we went there as they serve from 11.30 - 22.30 so it's convenient when you are having a late lunch. The servers are very friendly and the food was fantastic! I can recommend the duckling breast with morel sauce, or the Charolaise lamb in a Rosemary juice or... More
