The food here is consistently of high quality, as is the service. I strongly prefer fish and they always have a nice fish option on the menu. Furthermore, for Basel standard, this place is very affordable.

Had the pleasure of experiencing a bit of upmarket Swiss dining at this classy restaurant located at the Der Teufelhof Basel Hotel. The 3 course meal was expertly prepared and paired with a variety of international wines to complete the dining experience. Lovely warm and cozy atmosphere despite its sophistication and is an easy stroll from the centrally downtown station... More

We came here on a Monday. A lot more busy and noisy than I had expected. Food and services are wonderful. All waiters and waitresses always have warm smiles and try their best to serve. Nothing too fancy. Cozy and chill. Chf59 for 2 course. Not cheap given this is a 3star hotel but still good value in Swiss standard.

I stayed in the Teufelhof hotel and even if I do not normally want to eat in a hotel restaurant, after seeing Tripadvisor ranking and comments, decided to have my dinner here. Their menu is just about right, not too wide, not too limited. The menu concept is also interesting: two courses 59CHF (approx. the same in USD or euro),... More

We initially had reservations for this restaurant on my birthday but upon arrival we were greeted with a very... stressed... waitstaff and decided not to stay. However, we decided to give it another go and went back midweek. I must say what a night and day difference. the staff immediately greeted us and were friendly. the service and food were... More

This is a surprisingly modern restaurant set within a more traditional hotel, and therefore a welcome surprise. From the table settings to the furniture, everything as well appointed. There is a daily set menu as well as a la carte, I particularly like the choices for vegetarians as eating out non-dairy is hard in the home of the milk and... More

After recommending Schlusselzunft for my boss's business dinner in Basel he turned to me again for another business dinner in Basel and I selected this restaurant after reading the reviews. It was a hit with everyone, and they said between the two restaurants it was the best food they've ever had in Basel, and they all travel there multiple times... More

We ate the veal chop signature dish for a small supplement to the 2 course fixed price menu. Wonderful meat! Good friendly service and a cosy candlelit environment. Expensive but no worse than most other Basel restaurants of this standard.

I took the group from work for this team bonding lunch and decided on the Atelier because the new boss is new to Basel and I wanted to show him a cultural and gastronomic venue. And we weren't disappointed. From the minute we entered our coats were whisked away, we were seated and shortly our lovely waitress Anna suggested we... More

Description
The restaurant Atelier underlines the art and gallery orientation of the cultural guesthouse «Der Teufelhof Basel». Being the French word for an artist’s workshop, an atelier is the workplace of a creative person. Our guests staying in the restaurant Atelier experience a glimpse behind the scenes of daily life in kitchen and service. Our offer comprises state-of-art global cuisine, mainly with Swiss and regional products which we purchase from suppliers and producers who we know personally. The emphasis is placed on manual skills - everything we offer is «handmade».
