We were staying in the hotel attached to the restaurant and decided to eat at Atelier rather than the more expensive Michelin starred restaurant upstairs! We must state everything was excellent, from the waiters, to the food and everything in between. We had the gravlax tartar to start followed by the bass and perch fish dish, both probably worthy of... More

Very Attentive service, good food with some local sourcing, we went on a Friday evening to slip pleasantly into the weekend.

We both ordered duck and were not told it was a cold dish. At the price we paid I would have thought that should have been explained. It tasted good though. The carrot soup was delicious also. Service poor. Wine excellent.

Went with my partner for a romantic dinner at the hotel teufelhof/restaurant atelier. The experience was amazing. We had a three course dinner at a reasonable price. The food was exceptional, the service and atmosphere great. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone and we will definitely be back.

Located in the Teufelhof, This is the more casual restaurant (there is a more formal option). Nice modern decor. At lunch time it can get packed and then it gets also a bit noisy. I had the set lunch menu, a steak with potatoes and salad - salad was fresh and good dressing, potatoes were also good and crispy, good... More

I normally don't bother with the vegetarian option on a menu as I enjoy fish and meat more but I really like wild garlic and when I saw wild garlic ravioli as a main course I had to try it. Thank goodness I did it was sublime- a heavenly concoction of delicate pasta with a subtle garlic and mild cheese... More

We had a celebratory dinner here with our friends before we all headed our separate ways. I didn't expect much, but the courses were superb. The simplicity of the dishes and the flavors were a delight to the palette. Indulge and treat yourself to a true dining experience.

"The Devil's Court" in Basel contains an art hotel, a galerie/hotel, a gourmet restaurant, a bar/coffee bar, a wine store, a theater and the simpler restaurant called the Atelier, the subject of this review. The restaurant describes itself as offering "state-of-the-art global cuisine" with a "focus on craftsmanship". The smoked salmon trout starter with a joghurt-dill dressing and a small... More

We did not know what to expect: the reviews were mixed but 'interesting' so we thought it would be worth a go. Unexpectedly, our arrival was interesting: we followed the signs from the door to the Restaurant Atelier and ended up in the cellar. I then had to do the thing that men never do: ask for directions. From the... More

Description
The restaurant Atelier underlines the art and gallery orientation of the cultural guesthouse «Der Teufelhof Basel». Being the French word for an artist’s workshop, an atelier is the workplace of a creative person. Our guests staying in the restaurant Atelier experience a glimpse behind the scenes of daily life in kitchen and service. Our offer comprises state-of-art global cuisine, mainly with Swiss and regional products which we purchase from suppliers and producers who we know personally. The emphasis is placed on manual skills - everything we offer is «handmade».
