Since their move to Binningen the restaurant is a short tram ride from us and we decided to give it a try. The location has previously been a middle eastern restaurant, a very short lived cous cous parlor and now an Indian establishment. We chose to try a lunch menu with meat. The meal started with a small bowl of dal soup (lentils in this case) served with fresh, warm naan. Soup was very good and the naan was very fresh. Our mains were the lamb vindaloo. You can pick your own level of spiciness. I chose hot and my partner picked medium. The medium was just right for her and mine could have been a touch higher on the capsaicin scale with some fresh chopped chilis. The vindaloo was served with rice and a crisp papadam. Portion was on the small side but when you consider that it cost only 19 CHF and this is Switzerland, it was well worth the price. The main menu card has everything a you'd expect in this area. Service was excellent and very friendly. The restaurant is easily accessible via the no. 10 tram. Would certainly recommend this establishment.

Super flavorful vegetarian Indian food in Basel (lots of meat options too). Amazing service as well. I believe the veggie food has ghee (clarified butter) in it, and maybe cream sometimes, so if you have a dairy allergy it’s best to call in advance as I’m not sure if the food can be made vegan. But we have eaten here 3 times and each time the vegetarian food tastes amazing!!

Thanks a lot for your positive feedback, we're very happy to hear that you liked our veggie curries. We would like to clear your doubts. We don't use ghee(clarified butter) in any of our curries. We use sunflower oil only. The cream is used in some dishes but can be easily replaced with coconut milk. And yes we have lots of vegan curries as well.

Eaten here twice now. We were introduced by friends and went back together two weeks later. Samosa was a little empty albeit still tasty but extremely good popadoms, I have to say. Lamb was nice but if I am completely honest the chicken tikka masala had too much sauce with it. Nevertheless, it will not put us off and we will go back and try another dish. The best garlic naan we have had for a while and all washed down with a nice glass of Merlot. What we liked was the service, hot plates and fair price!

Small, cosy, Indian restaurant just outside of Basel. Right at the #10 tram so very easy to reach. The staff were friendly and the menu had diverse options. The starters were fantastic and full of robust flavors, hot but just the right amount. Unfortunately the mains were a bit of a let down due to the lesser punch of flavor. Regardless, the evening was nice and the overall experience was good.

Lamb madras and butter chicken tastes like they came from one of those ready-to-use sauces. We were expecting more authenticity given their rating and price. Such a pity.
Also, food came out 1 hour and 25 mins after we ordered.
Wont come back.

As always, we were given a warm welcome and extremely courteous service.
You can feel that the carefully prepared aromatic dishes are prepared with love. Each individual dish has its own unique flavor and is of excellent quality; the spices are perfectly matched to each other and thus offer authentic Indian culinary delights.
The price-performance ratio is also sensational, which always gives us an all-round perfect stay.

Great Date Dinner spot. We enjoyed the food which was served in a surprisingly authentic manner and held par with some of the food served in India. The restaurant follows a modern style trickled with Indian touches. As it is on the pricier end, we would visit it again on a special occasion

A friend of mine recommended me this place if I wanted to eat some authentic Indian food: expectations fully met! We went here for dinner and overall we satisfied: tasty (and spicy) food, friendly staff and fair prices. We ordered some appetizers and then both chicken and lamb. All the dishes were good. The dessert wasn’t special but it’s simply because Indian dessert are different to what we are used to. Go there and try it 😃

Easily the finest Indian food I have had the pleasure of enjoying in Switzerland.
I say this as a regular consumer of this cuisine in the UK, and having visited India on numerous occasions.
The food is delicately prepared with obviously fresh spices and just so nicely cooked.
The helpful spice guide on the menu is spot on. There’s no risk for someone inexperienced having a meal that they cannot enjoy due to heat.
I fully recommend the garlic naan. So authentic and just beautiful.
Finally, the service is friendly, kind and prompt.
I look forward to visiting this establishment again at the earliest opportunity!

Nice decor and easy to get to from tram stop and main railway station
The waitress did not know where the cook came from. India she said!
The salted lassi had more water than the yogurt
We ordered samosas as starter (2 pieces) and they were overfried, dry and cold by the time they arrived.Palak paneer and dal tadka tasted as if out of a microwave
The waitress was nice but had no idea about the menu or the food. Nobody came out of the kitchen the entire lunch.
Not in a hurry to go back

To clarify, our kitchen staff does not serve food to guests as their focus is on preparing fresh dishes. We do not reheat pre-made meals; everything is cooked fresh. The food was good (not exceptional) but it was a good food. The waiter we had was an extra but I’ve never seen such a kind guy. Really me and my girlfriend had a smile on our face all the way back to our house because of his guys who was so kind. I recommend.

I visited the Restaurant with my family in Saturday evening.There was Good Atmosphere & Fantastic decor and the Staff is very helpful and polite.The food quality was outstanding and Pista Kulfi is really delicious..We will be back for sure!
