We are Indian couple enjoying our holiday in Switzerland finding Indian food outside of India is a tough job that we found in Switzerland. But our search over when we had our dinner in royal palace Basel we can surely said that this was best food in Switzerland we taste pure flavour of food and also very nice service.

We often order from that place and they always deliver! The food is so amazing, it always feels like a treat. It's freshly cooked and comes in big portions. I used to work close by and come and stop for a lassi, we would usually get free papadams with the lassi.
Now during the crisis I started ordering directly with them (not with eat.ch or uber eat etc.) in order to ensure, that they can profit the max out of every order.

Terrible delivery ! Don’t believe the ratings!!!

Got a time slot.
It never happened.
We phoned the restaurant, they said it was on its way, we phone Eat 3 times, finally cancelling the order as they said they had problems with this restaurant.
They wasted 2 hours of my life and I’m still hungry!

Quite good Indian restaurant in Basel.
The inside is quite spacious ; waiters were polite, agreeable and efficient.
Food was fine.
We found it quite expensive though (CHF 130 for 2 adults ), especially considering the very small portion of rice served with the dishes (which we found barely enough for half a person).
Overall, I would tend to recommend this place as we found it more professional than other Indian restaurants in Basel.
However, I wouldn't return myself as I dislike the idea of an Asian restaurant serving tiny portions of rice (I have been eating Asian food every day for ~20 years... this really annoyed me).

No doubt on recommending this welcoming place.
Me and my family came across this Indian restaurant, that not only offered a friendly service but also the food was delicious and worth the time and money. Coming from London, we didn’t expect to have such a tasty and unforgettable dinner.
I would highly suggest you to try and enjoy the food if you visit Basil…

The menu is large unfortunately the dishes I chose where all uniformly of poor quality. I have had "Indian"in many places including India, this was not even in the class of street food. Uninspired, poor taste and the quality was dreadful.I am sorry the proprietors certainly make and effort to welcome and serve but in the end the food counts. In this case they fail

We always love eating food at this restaurant. Can't even think about any other restaurant, only this is the one. We visit this restaurant many times. Always the food we eat is authentic and traditional in taste . I love to eat malai kofta and grilled tandoori chicken with butter naan and pulao rice. The combination of pulao rice with raita was just finger licking,it was advised by the waiter of the restaurant and we loved it so much that we can't stop eating it. I have never seen tandoor any where else in switzerland. I would just say that it is the best restaurant I had ever been visited ♥️.

I have been coming off and on for several years, and have come much more frequently since the pandemic began. I feel very welcome, and the atmosphere is casual and unpretentious. It is family run, and the food is really good and really fresh. I especially like the Palak Paneer, which is made with very fresh cheese. The Bhindi is also great. Service is good and friendly. Give it a try.

Best Indian food ever, everything is made from fresh ingredients even the pickle tray. Amazing quality food and so glad that they pride themselves in quality of their food so much . I'm so happy that the restaurant is doing so well.

Dish number 54 (mixed vegetables) consists of 90% fried rice and 10% peas/carrots. Very modest experience, and also the price (minus 10% for take away). The owner later responded to my sober, not unfriendly feedback, saying that it was just a stew and that he had not received any feedback of this kind before. Was there no cauliflower in it? Exactly a tiny piece.
It was simply not good, in fact worse than frozen food from the supermarket. If you like it... for me it's reusing rice with frozen vegetables at a still high price. It can be done much better.
Sorry Mr. Pooni - Addendum to the conversation: I hope you upgrade the dish to keep guests who simply say nothing out of politeness and then don't come back. But maybe they don't really care about all that, who knows.

I can warmly recommend the Royal Palace in Basel. Apart from being quite a regular customer, with family, friends or just on a night out with my wife, I have tried the majority of indian restaurants in Basel and Royal Palace is by far the best.
Service is great and the owner is a really fun guy!
Also the variety of food is great, whether it's vegetarian, grill or sauce like Murgh Malai Tikka I've never been disappointed.

Super restaurant run by a very helpful and attentive family.very good choice of dishes generous portions and good value for money.Service a little slow even if the evening we went there were few people!! This may be due to the many couriers who keep picking up orders made over the phone. In any case to recommend.

We ordered the chicken tikka masala and chicken jalefrezi along with some papadoms and garlic nan. Everything was delicious. The jalifrezi was probably the best I have ever had, really flavorful. We ate outside in a large patio area so that was nice as well. Go to this restaurant!

I have been to this restaurant with the family, had an amazing food.
Good environment and friendly staff.
We had vegetarian samosa, chicken pakoda and onion bhaji as a starter.
Then the main course Butter chicken, Tandoori chicken and Palak paneer, Baingan Ka Bharta with 2 butter naans and onion kulcha.
We've been to many restaurants in Basel but this is the best one, quality food and very competitive price.
The owner was very nice.
Highly recommended to go there.
