Another lovely evening at The Harmonie and, yet again, couldn't force myself to eat anything other than the Cafe de Paris which is consistently excellent. That said, and if the mood takes you, in my humble opinion, their wurst kase salat is the best in Switzerland! Super service and lovely local atmosphere as always. Try it and you won't be... More

We were looking for a local hangout for lunch and this one is near the university. And I loved it because of the local character, the ambience. Joelle, the waitress , was friendly and seemed familiar with the customers who must be regulars. And the menu was certainly interesting - a bit of French, German, Italian, Swiss - moules, huitres,... I have visited this restaurant frequently in the past two years on business. The menu is simple but of high quality and the food served is of a very constant high quality. Coming back soon!

The waiter Harry made our 2 nights so enjoyable. He has an infectious laugh - what an asset he is. The food is good, fresh and very generous servings. We had sausage and Rosti one night, the next had weiner snitzel. All delicious. Thanks Harry for making our last 2 nights so enjoyable. Sorry I accidently originally posted this review... More

We got the cheese rosti with fried egg and a sausage with bacon rosti, since we wanted to try local Swiss food. Rosti is great, it's like a huge shredded potato pancake. A warning though, the cheese rosti is very heavy on the cheese. A cross section showed that the dish was probably 70% rosti, 30% cheese. It still tasted... More

The first night my husband and I were in Basel, we were invited to dinner by a friend who has lived in Basel for over 30 years. She said it was near our hotel (it was 3 block away). It's a busy and bustling place, but the food is good, but pricey like much of Switzerland these days. The menu... More

Close to my hotel, and always kinda full, so you may need to share a table. I tried the veal sausage because it was recommended, and honestly it was very good, but you have to ask for the complementary mustard.

Hand made lasagna and spinach stuffed ravioli were great, and the veggies in mixed green salad were fresh and tasted great. Waitress gave us just the right amount of attention - my wife wasn't feeling to well and we were both tired from a day of travel.

I know the place for many years and gladly return there whenever I'm back in my hometown Basel and fancy a pleasant evening in a homely atmosphere, a decent meal and experienced service. We'll call again.
