We ate here our last night in Perugia, and it was spectacular. The food was excellent, and the service was great. Our waiter even went through the menu with us in English, which I think is always a nice touch for those us us less conversant in the local language. The nice thing about this place, too, is that it's... More

La Lumera, included in the Italian version of the Slow Food Guide, was a lovely place to have dinner with friends. The pastas were perfectly done and the rabbit (coniglio) was delicious. The house red wine, from Montefalco, was excellent and reasonably price. Good, non-hurried service made it a great night. We will definitely be going back.

Whenever I have visitors from out of town or from another country this is the place we go for dinner. The decor is warm and inviting, the service excellent, friendly atmosphere and in the summer there are tables set outside in a small adjacent street. All this plus mouthwatering dishes that are traditional with just a touch of novelty. What more could... More

Excellent food and wonderful waiter/ chef who patiently explained the whole menu to all of us, several times. Warm friendly atmosphere and I was able to book over email from the uk. My Dad is a vegetarian and the chef made a special starter as there were no vegetarian options which my dad liked on the starter menu. All 11... More

If you are looking for an excellent meal, i strongly recommend this restaurant. They purposely serve some dishes/tastes which are a bit out of the ordinary, but pleasant. The price is fair, book in advance. I had the house wine, which is not of the highest quality but in line with its price. I will go back if in the... More

After a hard days trip out in Umbrian sunshine on a Sunday had forgotten that many restos closed Sun pm .But Jenny remembered having seen this atmospheric place tucked away under Porta Pesa. It did not disappoint. The roast shoulder of pork stuffed with chestnuts was a winner, the starter of mixed bruschetta also very good red Montefalco. We didn't... More

This osteria is regularly featured in Slow Food publications as one of the best places to eat in Perugia, and the place stays true to all ratings.

I went here with a group from school. The chef taught us how to make pasta and let us help! It was delicious. In addition to the pasta we made, which he put an Umbrian pork sauce on and a veggie one for the vegetarians, we had great appetizers like bread with cheese and mushrooms, a rice and lentil dish,... We had a decent mixed antipasti for two but the main courses of stinco di maiale and braciola di maiale were unbelievable. Some of the best pork I've ever had. The only disappointment was a lack of side dish options but maybe they had stuff off-menu. Service was good too.
