Was hoping for simple home cooked food but really felt the food was quite a let down. There was a generous amount of food, however, to improve I suggest cutting down the quantity and improving the quality. Great location. Quite rushed through each course.

This place is very lively. I went on my own. I doubt that it is a place for a romantic dinner. The service was a bit rushed . I wouldn't hurry back...it was noisy. ..fair enough, young crowd...the food was average...I could have cooked it...at home...and service was quite rushed....also the menu is written in the local dialect which makes it a bit difficult to decipher and left me feeling as though there was a joke being told that i was not party to and in fact ,was on me.in fact I don't really know what I ate. There seemed to me to be a bit of disdain from certain staff...as if they were doing me a favour. It's a restaurant guys, the customer is the prime concern. Maybe they are trading on the years of past success. My tip. Go in a big group, drink loads of wine , be loud, and eat loads of starch as that is what's on offer and may help with the wine . On the plus side food arrived quickly. There was a lot of it.and paying up was quick. An experience to have just once . But then again I am 57 .More

You can’t get any more authentic than this in Perugia, from what I hear. It is a place which has been around for decades and only let’s you eat the dishes of the day (full meal from appetizer to dessert). But it is super good...local cuisine, and you eat A LOT of food.More

We've been here on Sunday October 20th with a €15 fixed menu. Appetizers were perfect for a happy hour, then we chose two excellent main courses with handmade "fettuccine" and truffle rice. Then we asked for a mixed roast with salad and a sweet cake,..."vinsanto", 3 bottles of good wine, water, coke.... total: €18 per person. We came from far away, otherwise we'd be here every day!More

Even though they pile on lots of food, you get better value elsewhere where the prix fix costs a little less and the quality is much better. The food at Dal is not the least bit special or tasty; the service can be horrible (my...waiter put on a coat and left twice while I ate); it's better to go to a place where they offer *both* a prix fix AND a regular menu so you have some choice; and it's the only place I've been to in two months where they don't accept credit cards. The food was the worst I had during ten days in Perugia. You get a lot of food because they offer two primi, one pasta and the other gnocchi but who needs so much starch?More

I’ve been to this restaurant with my friends because lot of local people suggested it to us, they serve a different set menu every day, we had a meat pasta, mushroom risotto (excellent), and a mixed grill with salad as a side. The food was...tasty and plentiful for all of us... friendly staff... the location is ok.. simply a typical Italian trattoria!More

The place is great, very authentic & packed with locals. It looks like a place where people from the neighborhood come to celebrate special occasions, there were at least 2 birthday parties. The food is served "family style", basically "all you can eat" for 15...euros per person. No choosing, what they have today. When you finish your serving you can ask for more. The food is freshly made and tasty, but very simple. Frankly, my husband & me can do the same and even better, not including pastas, of course. All in all we had a great time, but if you are really hungry or just can eat a lot of pasta you'd have even better.More

In a nice area minutes away from the brasher tourist centre. Pleasant decor with exposed brick vaulting. Simple formula of a plate of nibbles, a pasta dish, a main chicken and salad dish, desert coffee and a liquor. All for EUR15. Bottle of wine EUR5...and water EUR1. One overworked waiter with on-off help from the boss. Pasta turned out to be two pastas (an arrabbiata style and a ragu) in huge quantities. Good. Decent chicken. Typically italian non-descript desert. All-in-all a great deal with friendly service but dont go if you are looking for variety. It's meat and two veg with lots of happy satisfied customers. They have gluten free.More

We went for lunch as we knew we wouldn't need a reservation and including us there were four diners. Set menu, large portions, good food, excellent house wine. Service was attentive, but with two tables that is what I would expect. I would recommend for...the experience, but I don't see a need to return.More

Called mid-morning on a Saturday and was able to make a reservation for lunch. Arrived and was immediately seated where the waiter explained the fixed price menu. The house wine was delicious and cheap! The meal consisted of an appetizer, two primis, roasted meat and...salad, and dessert with a digestivo. Portion sizes were very generous, too. Only thing to note is their is no price for kids and they get the adult size portions. Definitely a must in Perugia!!!More
