On our Assisi trips we often stop here for lunch. The service is wonderful and the food superior to what you otherwise find in most of the other Assisi restaurants. The prices are very reasonable .

We enjoyed the porcini pasta. What we had problem with was the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The server treated us like tourists incapable of knowing any local culture, brushed us off when we wanted to specify things and didn’t really ask us what we wanted but chose things for us before we could even finish our sentences. We were going to have a tomato-base pasta but ended up getting a different dish instead. The biggest problem we had was with the cleanliness of the bathroom. The walls were extremely dirty, and had feces splattered on them. It was not a pleasant sight...especially just after eating mushroom pasta. We actually wanted to throw up after seeing it. I notified the server since we didn’t want other people to see it but she again brushed me off telling me to go into the other bathroom, which had someone in it already. She didn’t apologize for the lack of cleanliness or seem like she was going to have someone clean it at all. I understand; the restaurant was busy at the time but she was the only person working. I work in hospitality business, and I simply cannot understand how a full sit-down Michelin-star restaurant only had one service person at a busy lunch hour. Service charge is 2.50 euro per person, and water is 2.50. The pasta was average price 10-14 euros. It ended up being the most expensive meal in our one week Italian trip.

We read the reviews and booked for 7.15 a couple of nights ago. Service was friendly and efficient, we shared bruschette to start, my wife enjoyed her wild boar stew but my tagliatelle al ragu was average. What really grated was that they had 3 wines by the glass but two of them were out of stock - the sagrantino that we wanted and the cab sauv/sangiovese. So we were left with a choice of 3 euro sangiovese or a half bottle of sagrantino for 18 euro. We chose the half bottle because we wanted sagrantino and it was OK. But how can you run out of wines by the glass?

Yes. It serves interesting food, with good service, at sensible prices. The staff are friendly, happy to give advice and are attentive without being intrusive. When I was there the customers ranged from those with young children to elderly couples. Everyone was welcome and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. Pretty much what you want in a restaurant. Although the menu includes much more than pasta, the pastas were well made and interesting. Give it a try.

This restaurant earned a Michelin Star. Honestly, I think they would lose it if it were rated today. Having said that, I found no fault with the food ordered by my table, but none of it rose to the level of exceptional. The pasta carbonara, the pasta arrabiata, the veal, and the rack of lamb was good but truthfully, I have had better. The ambiance is on the dark side with ornate chairs at each table. Service was minimal - supplied by a young lady who was kepy busy by about ten diners in the dining room. As soon as you sit down at table, you owe 2.50 Euros per person - it's a cover charge for the tableware. (There is a nearby restaurant with a similar menu without a cover charge.) You can do better in Assisi.

Fantastic service! Amazing food! A great place to eat whilst visiting Assisi! Absolutely loved it. The restaurant has been in business since 1966 and has earned many Michelin star ratings for a reason. Do yourself a favour and dine here!

We were in Italy celebrating our 45 wedding anniversary. Went here for a special dinner. My wife is gluten free and they were very accommodating. Atmosphere was wonderful, the food was exceptional. The service was excellent.

Ristorante da Cecco was so gracious to accommodate our party of ten when we arrived after the normal afternoon closing time. No only that, but we had a luncheon that we will not soon forget. This restaurant stands out for the freshness of the ingredients that it uses and the quality of food preparation. Members of our party had salads, pasta dishes, and wild boar stew, among other things. Each was delicious. The service was excellent, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our desires. For example, one of our party requested a dessert that was not on the menu. It was served without delay and with a smile. Finally, the reasonable prices on the menu make this restaurant a great value. We would gladly return on another visit.

Lovely family run restaurant serving typical Umbrian fayre! Our third visit here...we have also stayed at Hotel Berti, both the hotel and restaurant are owned by the same family!..we always dine here when in Assisi, as the food is always great, along with the service and atmosphere. Easiest way to find Da Cecco is to enter Assisi through Porta Pietro ( opposite the coach park, and new underground car-park) walk straight ahead and it's on your left at about 50 mts.

Very central, a small restaurant that served us the best food we ate in our two weeks in Umbria. Classic regional food, somewhat on the cheap side.

Lunch experience in Assisi. After some long walking up and down through Assisi, we needed a break. On the way to the car park we ended up in Cecco. Nice atmosphere under medieval ceiling and walls. Food is nice, big portions, two pittas are more than enough with some local wine. The Umbria cheeses are a bit overrated.

We ate here two nights in a row. The stewed pork, potent with olives and juniper berries, was one of the most interesting dishes I have ever tasted. The beef tenderloin was piled high with arugula and Parmesan. The lamb was a quality cut, simple, grilled to perfection and fragrant with rosemary. Our waitress recommended a great bottle of wine and offered to cap it up so I could take away what was left. It was not a problem to bring back the remainder to drink with my meal the second night.
