Medioevo is under new management and is a lovely dining room, but there are some concerns. The menu ala carte is medium priced and some meat dishes very tasty and not typical of the standard Umbrian restaurant. We enjoyed the steak with sangrantino wine sauce. I found the food temperature Lukewarm, the Umbrian wine selection was fair priced and yummy.... More

Good local food in a fantastic setting. Service is good and owners very friendly. Worth booking as it does get busy on times. Closed one day a week.

After entering through a rather obscure entrance, our group was made welcome in the large dining room. There was nothing obscure about the food however. We had bruschetta with ripe tomatoes, and pasta to start. The main course was a flaming pork roast. I also enjoyed chicken piccatta - the sauce was vibrant and bursting with lemon flavor. A panna... The meet was undercooked so we sent it back to the kitchen, and it returned very overcooked. Strange plating with half a potato, a steak, and one shriveled lettuce leaf with brown spots.

Dining above the Roman ruins, which you can see through the glass floor as you enter the restaurant sets the stage for this restaurants dining atomsphere. With an excellent choice of Italian favorites, served professionally, and with music in the background it makes for a wonderful dinning experience.

If you have a group of 6 or 8 or more, you should definitely come here. This is a world class restaurant that seems to cater to high end groups. Many large tables - many rounds - fitting 6 or more. We were in a group of 20 and we couldn't have been more pleased. The place is large and... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant during walk around the mediaeval streets and thought the menu interesting, and the fact that Rick Stein recommended the place did not put us off. The waiter was friendly and helpful and the choice of food look good. There was nothing that we could fault (we both had the lamb cutlets) with our food our... More

We arrived about two minutes before before the end of lunch 2:58 PM but were received with a hearty welcome and please make yourselves at home by William the owner. For the next two and a half hours we were treated to a most relaxing enjoyable meal. From the house antipasto to the dolci casale it was a delightful trip... More

I spent Christmas in Assisi and a definite highlight was dinner at Medioevo -- fantastic! From the fried olives and bruschetta to the flaming roast porchetta, each course was well-prepared and delicious. The staff was friendly and unobtrusive and the setting was beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant!

We ate dinner here after a long day of travel, and it was the perfect place to sit down, relax, and have a leisurely dinner and wine. I had the Rigatoni alla Norcina on recommendation from a friend, and it was delicious. Priced very fairly at 9 Eruo. Highly recommend it!

Description
The philosophy of the restaurant's kitchen part of the Middle Ages by a careful search of raw materials, all fresh, seasonal, local produce to domestic KM.Zero and of high quality. Meat derived exclusively from farms in Umbria and Tuscany, of the Umbrian hills oil obtained by cold pressing, fresh pasta made by hand, careful selection of cured meats and artisan cheeses. Experience and passion for good food of William, born skilfully revisited, rediscovering the traditional Umbrian menu and make that change from time to time according to the season. To complete the unforgettable experience in the heart of Assisi, in the Middle Ages will find a special location rich in architectural elements dating back to the Roman era a few steps from Piazza del Comune.
