I have eaten at Nonna Gina's several times and the food has always been great. It's traditional, authentic Italian food on a hand written menu. The waiting staff were friendly and happy to explain the menu to you if you weren't sure what anything was. There were 6 of us who shared two antipasti boards. For mains we chose the... More

Authentic good value restaurant c!ose to centre of Siena. Six of usual enjoyed the antipasti and the pasta dishes, including the secret recipe gnocchi! Probably helped that we had an Italian speaker with us to help with the menu, but service was ok and the bottle of amaretto on the table at the end was a nice touch but the... More

I was drawn to this place by the quaint façade, cosy interior, and hand-written menu. I was dead wrong to think it was anything more than another tourist trap. The service was terrible. Our waiter was condescending, acting annoyed at our questions about the menu. Kind of reminded me of a moody teenager when asked to talk about himself. The... More

Rustic, Tuscany atmosphere featuring regional dishes 10 minute walk south of Plazza del Campo. Good idea to call in reservations on weekends.

This is a restaurant for people, like us, that have spent months in Italy and want real Italian food, not fast food and fast service. On a recommendation we ate there, and we went back a second time even though we were staying in an apartment and could have cooked our own meal. The food is definitely local Italian, the... More

Quite nice ambience, but were underwhelmed with our main meals, a few meat dishes. The antipasto plates looked good, perhaps we should've ordered that. The panacotta had a good, creamy texture, not gelatinous. Service was prompt but lacklustre. As another reviewer noted, the waiters looked like they'd rather be elsewhere.

Admittedly, atmosphere was agreeable and very typical, food was also OK. But that's about it, wine list was small and house wine undrinkable. And you overall service was appallingly bad. Young waiter who clearly could not wait to go home and find another job far away from tourists who he made no effort to hide his dislike of!

Despite all the certificates on the door (e.g. from TripAdvisor) we didn't enjoy our time here. The food was indifferent - you can get more tasty gnocchi, spaghetti and salad caprese in lots of places. The service was worse. The waiters were completely indifferent to our questions. My daughter is vegetarian and when we asked if the gnocchi was vegetarian... More

We visited this restaurant on the last night of our stay in Siena - what a treat. We wished we'd come before. The staff were all very friendly and the food was home cooked (as Nonna would make it). We had chicken escalope and grilled sliced pork with fried potatoes and green salad on the side. Everything was cooked beautifully.... More

What a fab place; found it by chance just walking around town, popped in & booked an evening table for 6 of us - was not to be disappointed. Owners daughter helped out with the translation, food was magnificent & well worth a second, third & forth visit ..
