Allthough located right between Il Campo and Duomo this is not a tourist trap. And they do nothing to attract tourists at all. Nothing fancy - but very local and original. Dinning room is full of old photos of the traditional Siena Palio. And the menu is also very true to it's origin and history. We had baked pecorino on... More

Siena is a wonderful city, but at times obviously a tourist trap close to The Piazza. This restaurant was a lucky strike for very nice traditional Italian food. Many locals were eating here too, often a good sign. I would not mind coming back.

We were seated inside and we're happy with the seating but the waiter never came. Forgot coke for the kids, did not understand what we wanted for starters. Served wine at 30 degrees and then went on to defend the practice..... The Fiorentina was huge ( 1.5 kilo ) and good. Rare and red. But that was the only highlight... More

So we stopped into this place on a Sunday night. Trip Advisor said it was open until 12am. The second we sat down, our waiter said "the kitchen closes at 10pm, so you must order right now". Mind you, we barely had the menus. That was the only thing from keeping this as a 5 star experience (our waiter). The... More

The food was mediocre. The owner, however, was extremely rude to us. We asked for oil and vinegar for our salads. We proceeded to use the oil for the bread, and the owner gave us dirty looks and then eventually came and took away the oil and vinegar, mumbling something about "ordering the bruschetta." My cousin laughed uncomfortably because she... More

Very quaint local spot. We went here early for dinner and were the only tourists there (always a good sign). The meat and cheese antipasto was easily the best one we had in Siena. I had the Osso Bucco and my wife had the Gnocchi. Both were excellent. The wine list was small, but what we had was very good... More

Beautifully decorated place (take some time to examine the photos on the walls). We had a delicious lunch and the house wine was very good. Helpful and polite service.

Great atmosphere, good service. Traditional Tuscan cuisine done well. House red wine not bad, Alto Adige Pinot Grigio very good. Good steaks cooked well. The traditional biscuits to dip in the sweet wine were excellent. A very good Taverna meal.

Our family of four had the best meal of our trip to Tuscany here. The grilled meat and the rigatoni in particular were quite spectacular. Prices are affordable despite the Taverna being situated in a tourist zone.

We chose this restaurant simply on liking the outside of it when we walked past during the day. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is quite small and we were sat at the very back on a slightly raised section, however this did not distract from the enjoyment of the evening. The young waiter was very helpful. He explained the... More
