We ate here on our first night in Siena and it was a great way to start our Palio week in the city. The atmosphere is beautiful and included amazing paintings and photographs from the Palio. We ordered a lovely bottle of wine from neaby Gaiole and then savored our three course meal which included pecorino souffle, scallops for starters.... More

A gorgeous setting and wonderful respite from a glorious sunny day in Siena. We visited for lunch while experiencing various Il Palio events, and we thoroughly enjoyed our lovely lunch. Pecorino souffle was delicous, light and beautifully presented. The gnocchetti with truffles was the best dish I had while spending 2 weeks in Tuscany! It is prepared within a potato... More

Spent time site seeing in Siena and ate here at the end of the day. The staff were so nice and the food is really great. We ate several dishes with the specialty of summer truffles. Each dish was better than the next. Would thoroughly recommend a visit !

The restaurant goes down 2 levels into the tufa bedrock with many small alcoves and great lighting that create a really romantic atmosphere. The food lived up to the expectations that we would expect of a restaurant ranked at number 7. Only downside is the wine list - they do not sell wine by the glass and there are only... More

After the first night of travels we visited this lovely restaurant , my husband and I could not decide the menu is great and the wine list extensive . The service was very good before we sat at our table we visited their wine bar around the corner , it was in here we got to view the cellar .... More

We had dinner here on our first night and immediately re-booked for our final night - say no more ! Food, wine, service, atmosphere all top class (there was even entertainment in the form of the chef / proprietor giving some wine bores at the next table an exposition on the magnificent variety of forms that the sangiovese grape can... The restaurant is fantastic with truly great service and fine wine. But value I think is very poor, there is nothing wrong with the food it's very good but 22 Euro's for a main course of one sausage and a spoon full of mash is way over the top.

we were with 3 and ordered 2 antipasti's, 2 primi's and 2 secondi's and shared the 3 of us so we had a good tasting menu. The first 2 dishes were tartar with truffle (great) and the scallops (cooked a bit too far, but very tasty) the second 2 was the risotto with truffle (absolutely great) and the Senese pasta... More

We have just enjoyed an incredible three course meal here! Great atmosphere and venue, it's fun to eat in a cave! I ordered the scallops which were fabulous and the truffle gnocchi (after seeing the reviews on here!) I was nervous as I've never tried truffle before, but it was just as good as previous reviewers have said, incredible, best... More
