We had a wonderful evening here. We visited a few years back and knew that we'd return when we next visited Siena. After a couple of years of travel disruption, we finally made it back and it was just as excellent as we remembered! Matteo...the maître d' is a fantastic host who clearly has a deep passion for the food and wine he serves. He is attentive but not overbearing, and the entire restaurant demonstrates his attention to detail (it's a relaxed and intimate setting, and everything is beautifully laid out!). The food is superb too - every course we had was delicious. There are good options for vegetarians too on request. Finally, the wine list is excellent and Matteo knows it inside out. Simply a great meal with a great host (and chef!). We will be back next time we are fortunate enough to find ourselves in Siena!More

Amazing food, majestic interior design, delicious food, but most importantly the service was incredible. The restaurant is a small family business, the son being the waiter and the mother the chef. Their story is amazing and the son tells you details about each couisine and...a lovely history of the wine, so get wine!! 100% recommend, best restaurant in Siena!!!More

Even though somehow our resevation was not showing, they provided us a table as long as we would be done by 9 which was no problem. Every course was both beautiful and delicious! We were given house made breadsticks which were very good as well...as a lovely amuse bouche. I had the pork, and it was SO tender and flavorful. My husband had the stuffed duck and loved it. AFter our meal they brought us dark chocolate covered orange peel. Loved it! For dessert we shared the house made contuccini which are the best I have ever eaten! This contuccini came with a pairing of a white dessert wine from northern Italy that was just perfect. Highly recommend you go here if you are in Sienna.!More

Deserves a star. Tiny place on the edge of old town with mother cooking and son doing the rest. Calabrian portions. Huge wine selections with higher end predominating. We absolutely loved it. Come hungry…

one year ago I was very lucky to meet Matteo. I was very impressed with the combination of food, taste and food decoration. Matteo is a very good wine sommelier. This is definitely my favourite restaurant in Siena.

In a city packed with great restaurants L'Oro Di Siena really stood out. We were staying at hotel minerva across the street and only discovered the restaurant by chance. With inventive but traditional plates and the best service we've received it was an amazing dining...experience. We Went there twice and can't wait to come back to Siena to go again. Would highly recommend.More

Not necessarily off the beaten track, but about an 8 minute walk from the centre of Siena, this was an incredible find. When you walk in its unclear what to expect but the food was out of this world. Seriously, on another level. The cheese...to start was mouthwatering, and the veal was something to marvel at. The service was fantastic and the kids loved it too. Their gnocchi was unreal (not made with potato so incredibly light and fresh). Great wine as well. What's not to like!More

We were staying around Siena for a few days and happened to stumble upon this gem of a restaurant. We really enjoyed our experience here! Service from Matteo was incredible, and the food was delicate, flavorful and nuanced - overall something different and elevated from...the other food we've had during our time in this area. The wine we had (il poggio 2016) was also one of our favorite wines we've had our entire trip to Italy! This is not a destination to be missed if you're in the area, 100% worth the money!More

We went to L'oro because of the great reviews on Trip advisor...The place exceeded our expectations. The waiter (probably the owner, didn't ask) presented us a typical Italian red wine, as we didn't know what to choose from the 12 page long wine Card. The...wine was aligned to our main course, which was housemade pasta. If you are looking for a romantic dinner for two (in our case with a dog), this is a really good choice in Siena!! We will come back:)More
