We have travelled all over Italy and we still think this is the best restaurant bar none. I have just returned after 3 years and still love this restaurant. Authentic Italian cooking, in a wonderful setting and absolutely lovely staff. We had Pappardelle with wild...boar sauce, rabbit and fillet steak with mushroom sauce followed by home made biscotti and Vin Santo. We chatted with the waiter for ages and had a wonderful time. I really cannot understand the negative comments i have read.More

We were looking forward to eating lunch here but had arrived shortly before opening time. The staff member who ‘greeted’ us told us the restaurant was closed and told us to go away and come back when they were open. Such blatantly unfriendly service turned...us away immediately and left a sour taste in our mouths.More

I really don't get why there are so many good reviews. The waitress was rude (she literally threw the bag of complimentary bread on our table while on her way to another table). My ravioli seemed microwaved and what I thought would ve a butter...sauce was actually just 5 drops os butter. My husband ordered the chicken thigh and it was completely overcooked (dry and hard). He was also surprised to see nothing else came on the plate (not a problem per se, but the waitress was so uninterested she didn't bother informing him or asking him if he wanted a side). My lemon soda came warm. Reading the reviews here, it really seems like I went to an entirely different restaurant.More

Not fine dining but brilliant. A wonderful welcome in a great venue. Food was as excellent as the waiter. Good quality (nothing fancy) & very tasty. Excellent house wine that didn’t cost a fortune. Superb!

We booked a table for a lunch time in Siena downtown: this place is good and a pleasant stay is granted. We got Pici (Aglione and Cacio/Pepe) very good and tasty, then Cinghiale in umido, tender and tasty. The only negative points about: home wine...(so so) and bread (not so good). We were expecting the typical tuscany bread...by the way suggested! Price quite good and very good service.More

We had the pleasure of a return trip. Food was excellent (try the onion soup) service was a delight, although our waiter did try to adopt my mom. He kept bringing her things to try. We will be back

The service and food was excellent. Ask for Ricardo, he is entertaining and loves what he does. The pasta is wonderful. Be sure to try the cacio e pepe. We have been to Siena quite a few times and always make time to eat here.

Excellent food, speedy service. We were a group of 10, and we were all served our starters and main meals in under 45min. That’s a record. It’s not a fancy restaurant, and it’s family-friendly. I would highly recommend when in Siena to eat here.

It would not be a trip to Siena ,unless we ate here at least two times. Since 2011 we have enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. Most of all we have to see Gabriella and Amadeo ,who always remember us . It is a...relaxed and wonderful celebration to be with them. So happy to be able to visit Italy again. We love the country and the people especially Gabriella and Amadeo . Suggest you order the cinghiale with pappardelle. It has just a subtle hint of spice, and is one of the best we have ever tasted ! Amadeo told me "the secret . " Great menu and you will not find nicer people ! Grazie mille. See you next year ! Peggy & GeorgeMore

- Located at the charming piazza del mercato quite hidden in the historical center of Siena - Very simple dishes but very good - Very accessible prices - Mostly visited by locals, not too much touristic

The place is nice, well located and buzzing (at least the evening we went there). First negative point was that the carbonara we ordered were loaded with black pepper… There was so much pepper that when the waiter asked if everything was going well, we...mentioned it. He spontaneously offered to bring us back new ones… which was very kind but to our surprise when the dish arrived the portion of meat was way lighter than in the first plate… Anyway at this point we were nicely surprised by the waiter’s offer. But then - second negative point - we ordered a tiramisu… which arrived in a non reusable plastic dish (ironic when they told us at the beginning of the dinner that they don’t change cutlery to save the planet…)… AND… it was basically… frozen! The waiter didn’t say anything and when we raised it - he was aware of it and just suggested we wait for it to defrost… We would have never expected a place like this not serving a freshly made tiramisu - and that sounds like a basic expectation for any type of guest. Very disappointing. We had left it, the waiter told us he removed it from the bill. We disliked the fact it was not upfront and that if we hadn’t say anything we would have just had to pay for it.More

This restaurant was recommended by the agrotourismo where we were staying. The waiter was outstanding - pointing us to the best food for our tastes, and even cancelling a second course when he saw that we had over ordered (he was right). My wife and...I both had the Pici all'aglione, which was about the best pasta dish we'd ever had. Everything, dessert, wine, service, appetizers was incredible. Could not recommended more highly.More
