Finocchiona, salame, pecorino, pane toscano e vinello. This is all there is at Bertelli and we hope this place stays open forever. The food is great quality, the place is authentic and vivacious and the owner is simply Magnificent. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS...YOU WILL THANK MR BERTELLI WITH EYES FULL OF JOYMore

A nice little place that sells three products (finocchiona, salami and pecorino) and two types of wine (white and red), of excellent quality, all at zero km, and at excellent prices. We were lucky enough to be the only ones in the shop and we...had a pleasant chat with the owner.More

We have no regrets of stopping by this place - we did not want the food to end. You get to choose which salami/cheese you want and he explains where it is made. There is no oils or butter, which makes it better as you...get to experience the taste of salami and cheese. We took a glass of wine with it too.More

We searched this place out based on the TripAdvisor reviews. It is a little tough to find, as it is a small shop on a back street. As other reviewers have said, this is a simple sandwich - two choices of salami, pecorino cheese, and...fresh, unsalted Tuscan bread. Red or white wine, or you can get a drink from the cooler. Oh, and you need to be able to speak some Italian as Signore Bertelli doesn't speak much English. So why go? Go for the experience! Watch as Signore Bertelli pulls your salami or cheese from the case - and note the sign that explains how far away it was made (all within about 6 miles). Watch as he carefully slices everything by hand and lays it out on a marble table. The only question he has for you is whether or not you want it cut in half before he wraps it in butcher paper and hands it to you with a smile. In this fast food world, go to keep the tradition alive. It's clear from the walls that the Bertellis have been doing this for a couple of hundred years, and they take great pride in making your simple sandwich - which was delicious by the way. This is a true Tuscan experience.More

A very small and cosy place. One white wine, one red, 4 choices of sandwiches. All locally sourced and prepared in front of you by the owner. No frills, no butter, no oil, just bread and ham or cheese. Bottle of wine 8€, sandwich 4-5€....Worth a little walk off the main street.More

Truth be told, we found this place by chance but enjoyed being off the beaten track and having a simple sandwich served by Brunello at his marble counter. He obviously takes pride in his ingredients (bread, salami and cheese all within 10km) and his family's...history. It was a real treasure to find.More

I visited San Gimignano with friends and we stopped in here for lunch. There were positives: incredibly friendly owner, excellent service, and inexpensive. The negative was the lunch - an incredibly dry sandwhich of meat and bread. I would not eat here again.

This is a gem hidden away! San Gimignano does not have the best restaurants, as far as I’m concerned. We needed a spot where we could sit, have a drink and a quick bite to eat. This was the perfect spot. The owner is charming,...although speaks little English. It made no difference, as it was easy to order and he understood us all. There are only three tables, but customers seemed to move in and out and it was no problem.More

Off the beaten track in San Gimignano, but definitely worth finding. Great local salami & cheese sandwiches dispensed by the owner and accompanied by plastic beakers of an excellent (Fattoria San Donato) Chianti. They also sell bottles of the same to take away. Enjoyed chatting...to the owner in a mixture of Italian, English and sign language; a really friendly, genuine and welcoming guy.More
