From the state of the place clearly this restaurant has seen better days. The decor looked aged, some of the electrical fittings were coming off the wall and the cutlery and crockery could do with replacing. Still the menu looked interesting and, although by no means inexpensive, the prices are probably quite normal for a touristy place like San Gimignano.... More

I came upon this restaurant accidentally(is totally tucked out of the way!)The fact that it is on the Michelin Guide prompted me to have a look at the menu! -it seemed varied and reasonably priced so we(my elderly mum and myself) gave it a go! It was such a lovely surprise! The food was cooked to a very high standard... More

Nearly cancelled our reservation when we saw the utterly scathing review left earlier this month. Glad we didn't. Maybe the restaurant was having a bad day or maybe the reviewer was or a bit of both? I can only comment on our experience. I find it less helpful to read reviews of a place that are either "best ever" or... More

This is a typical tourist rip off restaurant ,looks classy by decor ,but food really 2star ,service arrogant ,wine warm and ambience nil.In terms of value this a non starter ,better value to be had in a pizzeria. Most courses returned ,but no apologies and service at 8%added irrespective,I wish I had more time to get to the tourist association to... Don't be put off by the excellence of this restaurant, it is a fantastic place to have a meal, mid priced, but high end. We enjoyed one of the finest meals we had in Tusancy here, local dishes and the same price as the local "touristico" crap places to eat. This is a must eat in restaraunt.

The "slow food" movement in Italy is famous. Member restaurant commit to using authentic recipes, and using locally sourced food appropriate to the season. Dorando is just off the main square, yet few visitors spend less than one minute to walk off the beaten path. Directly across from the entrance to Dorando is a place touting true Neapolitan pizza --... More

We arrived here purely by chance walking around San Gimignano one evening. The menu looked tempting, lots of Tuscan food that we had seen on various menus but never tried, so we gave it a go. Friendly and attentive waitresses saw us to a table .The restaurant was empty when we went in a little after six - early for... More

Found Ristorante Dorando via a recommendation on an app, and was so happy. Was the nicest fine dining restaurant we went to during our week in Tuscany. The lady was delightful and very nice. Our lunch - delicious!!

Ristorante Dorando is down a small narrow street off the 1st piazza. It is worth the search to enjoy this gem. We shared a few dishes and these were outstanding: Rolled pastry crisp vegetables with zafferano of San Gimignano velvety and Risotto with shrimp, asparagus tops and a bisque of shrimp. Truly outstanding and a complex layer of flavors in... More
