The hotel exceeded its 3* rating and the restaurant well exceeded that in quality, variety, service and at reasonable prices (for Tuscany).

Great restaurant for family dinner! Homemade pasta- the pappardelle with wild boar ragout & gnocchi-some of the best we have ever had! Also had nice baccala, veal and steak dishes. This is our "go to" restaurant in San Gimignano! Reasonably priced and terrific al fresco dining on the patio.

Staying nearby as a group of 10, we had this restaurant recommended to us by our property manager. The terrace setting was beautiful. Our service for the evening was very, very good. Our single consistent problem was that the food (all different orders) was very salty. I had the cinghiale (boar) over papardelle. The quality of the food was very... More

We've been coming back to Tuscany for the past 18 years, and a highlight is having supper at Ristorante da Pode. We look forward to our return, and the food this year did not disappoint. I still think the grilled chicken and roasted potatoes are second to none. My wife had the Tortolloni damPode and it was great as well.... More

This is a very good restaurant attached to the Hotel Sovestro. They serve typical Tuscan dishes in a friendly manner. The restaurant is well appointed without being fussy, wait staff are attentive but don't crowd you, this is a lovely example of a typical family run Italian restaurant. Dishes are pretty heavy (lots of cream and meat and game) but... More

We travel Italy from north to south and this place was the best we ever ate so far. Wonderful dishes, very delicious, great staff and professional. Fair prices and lots of parking space. Very much recommended! A+++

How this restaurant has achieved a recommendation as a restaurant worth visiting from the Michelin guide is beyond our comprehension. The chef must have had a really bad night as the steak with two pepper sauces had no outer cooking crust at all and the grilled chicken thigh (pre-boiled?) was dry and brittle. Had a artichoke crudo salad as one... More

Lots of German tourists when we were there and seems the menu caters to them. Food was just average.

This is attached to the Sovestro Hotel, so it is really convenient if you are staying here. It also has parking if you aren't. The food was excellent. They have a patio, where you can even eat when it rains because the tables are under umbrellas. We had a pasta (shared), a chicken dish, and a boar dish. The latter... More
