Close to the Pisa tower we fearless another touristy place but wasn't disappointed. Good delicious, simple and good tasting Italian food. Don't expect high cuisine as the kitchen serves true Italian food which is simple well tasting and good. Good service: they exchanged a glass of red wine which my friend didn't like free of charge. Good recommendations on Italian... More

My wife and I both greatly enjoyed this restaurant. We both had a main course of red snapper, which was excellent. As a first course, my wife had a dish consisting of rabbit and asparagus (a selection that she had seen recommended in a magazine), and she said it was delicious. Everything seemed very creatively prepared. Good and attentive service.... More

We entered, attracted by the impressive number of stickers on the doors: Slowfood, Michelin and whatever else. So, we had very high expectations. The place is indeed very popular, as the waiters had to turn down several parties who tried to come in without reservation. However, the food was average, the menu very limited, the service kind but rushed, and... More

We had lunch in this restaurant today while waiting for our hotel room to be ready. We had beef strips served with grated carrot, grilled cheese and chargrilled aubergine and courgette and it was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and they even made me aware that my medium well done steak would take a bit longer to... More

Enjoyed a great meal in the slowfood recommended restaurant. Excellent and friendly service. Far enough from the leaning tower to not attract too many tourists. The restaurant was full on a Monday evening and they had to turn away several guests. That should say it all.

We had a wonderful meal here, going slightly "off piste" our very knowledgeable and friendly waiter offered us some of the specials, a fabulous steak tartare, followed by a pasta with baby clams and a main of rabbit in oregano with wine and no room for dessert. It is a meal that we will not forget, and the price was... More

We were able to get a table for lunch without a reservation in this very busy restaurant that caters to a lot of locals. Service was attentive and the wine list offered many good options.

We were welcomed very well by a nice gentleman who advised us perfectly on food and wine. The waitress was also lovely and in spite of being very busy as the restaurant was full, was always diligent and smiling. Between the two os ud, We had a delicious tartare , a great carpacio of octopus, a fantastic tagliata di manzo... More

You have to look for it, as it is not located in the touristic part of town, but definitely worthwhile walking 10 minutes to find it. Excellent food, beautiful wines by the glass. check out the guide Osteria d'Italia for more info.

Description
The " Osteria dei Cavalieri " (The knight’s tavern) is situated in the historical heart of Pisa, a few steps away from the homonymous square and from the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, in a setting full of alleys where time seems to have stood still. In the Osteria it is still possible to leave the table with a festive feeling, captured not only through a meal but also through the enjoyed experience. A place that unites, in a relaxing and warm atmosphere, the most sincere tuscan dishes and refined, always creatively interpreted gastronomical suggestions.A working meal where you talk and in the meantime taste typical dishes while trying creative and inventive combinations made according to the strongest cooking tradition of Tuscany. A pleasant dinner in which you’ll be captured step by step by flavors and solutions offered by the chef and staff of the Osteria dei Cavalieri. All of this is possible in the historical heart of the city of Pisa, a few steps away from the marvellous Piazza dei Cavalieri, the famous tower and Piazza dei Miracoli. The entrance hall of the restaurant is the base of a tower house of 1200.The tables are framed by a characteristic stone ledge: light is shadowing, becomes misty and intimate, thus favouring conversation. In such an environment it is not difficult to lose oneself in unique wine and gastronomic experience. For sure this will grant the occasional visitor a memory, as is the case with the locals, who return time after time in the certainty of being surprised once again. The dishes and menus of the Osteria are born in a climate of perfect balance between innovation and tradition combined with a remarkable choice from a winecellar rich in discoveries and grand classics.
