We visited this place based on TripAdvisor reviews but were disappointed. Some reviews mentioned 'home cooking' but I still would have expected something a little better than even I could have knocked together at home. The fish with asparagus was extremely bland and the kids pasta carbonara was nothing special. (Their aunt cooks a much nicer one apparently). We were... More

Having just got off the Glasgow/Pisa flight we were famished. Not wanting to go for something busy and commercial, Google led us here and we were so glad. Very traditional home cooked and fresh Italian fare. Air conditioned and with a very friendly and attentive host. I always like it when you see locals having lunch and that was the... More

Having read reviews for this restaurant before leaving for Italy we decided to try this restaurant out on our last night in Tuscany before flying out from Pisa the next morning, and boy are we glad we did! The couple who run this delightful authentic restaurant are charming and gentile, the food is fantastic, we both had pasta dishes for... More

Talk to the owner, Giovanni! He'll see you right! A great variety of local dishes, reasonably priced, and the beat gnocchi in Pisa!

My husband and I spent a couple of nights in Pisa on our way home from our Tuscan trip. Our hotel recommended this restaurant. What a wonderful eating experience. The staff especially the elderly gentleman serving us. He was a perfect host. His service and humour made our evening. The food was just amazing. We have been going to Tuscany... More

Family run place very Italian excellent home cooked food. The couple serve themselves. Seats only inside. Mid June a bit stuffy and hot, the two airconditioners were off. No pizza or pannini. Two thirds of the menu is with sea food or fish. Reasonably priced and genuine local ambiance. Best to book upfront.

The owner of the B&B we stayed at in Pisa recommended this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It is a fairly small place down a side street near the station but the food was superb and the owner was friendly. Prices were very reasonable.

Thoroughly enjoyed this evening's meal at this restaurant. We'd had a sumptuous lunch in Lucca and couldn't envision a similar meal for dinner but wanted a few bites before concluding the day. This place met our needs; it was close to our hotel and had interesting dishes my husband and I could share. The husband and wife that run the... More

Walking in to Lo Schiaccianoci is like coming to a private home. The owner welcomes you with a handshake and the tables are placed like in private dining rooms. The menu consists of classical Italian dishes together with some local specialities. The food is excelent and portions a large. Although you are surrounded by wine bottles, they do not have... More

Was staying at the hotel right across the street. The receptionist highly recommended this restaurant. I was showed to a table very quickly . The atmosphere was jovial and most of the tables were taken. The rissoto was tasty and went well with the wine . There is a good variety of cuisine on offer and being a vegeterian obviously... More
