Tucked behind an unimpressive facade is one of the best dining opportunities you will ever have. Excellent service, helpful and friendly. Excellent wine list. Large portions of terrific food. Starter platter is enough to feed an army! "La Fiorentina" is a very large T bone of chianino beef that is perhaps the best steak I have ever had. Bring an... More

From the outside, you probably wouldn't be tempted to enter, but you would be denied some excellent food, wine and hospitality. We will certainly be getting a flight back again to try the incredible looking steak!

I've been here a few times in the space of a few years and the standards never slip. The staff are lovely and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food is always brilliant. The portions are very big, be careful!

First meal in Pisa, what a lovely place! Very authentic and warm atmosphere. House made pasta in boar sauce and boar with polenta, what else do we want? Ah yes, a Chianti superiore (2014)! Life is sweet!

If you want Florence steak then go for this place, but the pasta dishes are so-so. Generous garden salad and good selection of wine. Service ok.

Great food choice, friendly atmosphere and great value for money....try the 'House Special' and you won't be dissapointed. Very centrally located. Book in advance to guarantee a table.

Really enjoyed the food and the wine. Rare beef with asparagus topping on cheese on toast excellent. Service is a bit erratic but sit back and enjoy the food and wine.

Booked for 7.30 (which I know is early) and we were worried as we were the only people there, but within half an hour it was completely full - mostly with Italians. Doesn't look much from the outside but go there for the food and you won't be disappointed.

Il Campano is a great restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, whether it's home made pasta, traditional tripe or simple Tuscan starters such salami baked in pecorino cheese on a bed of fennel. Our waitress was extremely polite and helpful in recommending wines, which are very inexpensive. All in all, a great find, next time we're in Pisa we're definitely... More

Arrived 9:10. A bit snooty that we had not booked. Tables available inside but told there was only availability in the outside covered area. Took over 15 minutes to take our order. I queried the fact it had taken so long and was told well 'do you want to order or not?'. Very off hand and not very courteous customer... More

Description
Restaurant where you can find the original old plates of this lovely region, from the old recipe strait on your table. Of course the famous Fiorentina steak is the queen of the restaurant. With a wine list of around 200 wine labels from all round the Tuscany area, where you can find as well someone of the Italian's most famous.
