I ordered a pizza which was nice enough. Although we didn’t feel too comfortable throughout the meal. Got the impression tourists were not welcome.

We booked during the day and visited as a family of 3, 2 adults and a baby/toddler after stumbling across the restaurant in our exploring of the town. The staff were very kind and attached a booster restrainable seat to a chair for our little...one. Complimentary bread was lovely, however would have been nice to have butter or oil to accompany, was good for soaking up sauces post dish though. Beer pour had a lot of head and when settled was below the full line indicator. Pizza was really good and the ravioli was melt in your mouth delicious. Food was good, staff were lovely 🙏Highly recommend for anyone looking for a meal in Lucca.More
Food was OK but staff were hurried and unfriendly on this occasion. Also the decor has been spoiled with the hanging of amateur pictures for sale.
Ate here on two occasions during our week long holiday. Food was delicious, well presented and very friendly service. An interesting and non touristy place. Pizzas looked delicious but we opted for the main menu. On the second occasion we opted for the fish dish...which when cooked was filleted at the tableMore
Mads a snap decision to eat here as we didn't want to trawl around the city finding somewhere to eat. So pleased we did as excellent value and lovely location outside one of the gates and by the Fosso stream. The pasta was very good...and the salad was the most interesting that we had in our 9 night stay. Service was friendly.More
Always a favourite for good local Italian food. The pizza is my favourite. Lovely old world feel. Staff are always friendly.
One appetizer big enough for two people, two glasses of wine, two meals and one kilo of cheese the sold me set me back 75 euros. However they will automatically bring a bottle of wine (which you have to pay) and open it along with...bread unless you tell them not to! Now onto the review. If you ever have the opportunity to visit the city of Lucca "The City Of Walls" near Pisa than you must visit this place. Great atmosphere and peaceful. It was a great change from the tourists-catered menu you get from big cities like Rome and Florence. If you don't speak Italian then you can ask for an English menu. We ordered an appetizer for two people that consisted of cheese, three different types of meat with toasted bread. Each bread came with a different type of spread. Water of course is sold separately like any other restaurant in Italy. I ordered the "Tordelli Lucchesi 1895" an old recipe that consists of ravioli type pasta with meat inside. The outside is covered in a red sauce with seasoned ground beef. Very flavorful. The other dish was a roasted duck which was very tender and very delicious. This restaurant was so authentic, I can no longer eat in one of the many restaurants you see in Rome on every alley and street with patios outside. I highly recommended it. Had a great meal here, fish and meat dishes were very tasty and fresh. Pizza was huge but delicious and service fast and friendly.
The food was fine but please please learn to serve customers with drinks within the first 5-10 mins of arriving. We ordered quickly but it took 45 minutes to get out water / wine & bread and a further 15 minutes (1 hour) for the...first course to arrive. This seems to be a general problem in many Lucca restaurants. Otherwise it’s a good place.More
Went here while visiting Lucca . Great local find with delicious brick oven pizza to die for ! Had the pasta with truffles also amazing. Such a great place right inside the wall . Wonderful service, great food , don't hesitate to stop in and...say Ciao!!More
If you would like to feel the amazing vibe of Lucca visit this place in the evening, when this restaurant not only serves great food but also runs as a shop for locals. Great overall experience. And the rissoto we had was very delicious.
We ordered from the fixed menu with house wine. We were so full we could barely finish our meals. Great atmosphere.
Came here after a tip from a local. Had a lovely pasta primi and pork secundi. Bill for two of us was 25 euros. They were very patient with our infant daughter stomping up and down as well. Lovely place. Will definately come back.
Been here the past six years and it never disappoints. Best range of fantastic pizzas out there and the salads are amazing. Prices also very reasonable. Would highly recommend The cantuccini and Vin Santo makes a great dessert.
My husband and I wanted to have a special evening as it was our last evening in Italy. We are travelling with our two younger daughters and were staying around the corner from this restaurant. A bottle of Prosecco 11 Eur. Great quality and attentive...service. We shared a pasta dish (parpadelle) and for the main he had the fish of the day 17 Eur and I had a tuna steak. Quality and quantity! Our daughters shared a 4 formaggi pizza. Delicious. Overall we were satisfied with our visit but I recommend you to be observant of the bill if you don’t speak Italian. They had sat 1 bottle of rosè when I only had a glass of rosè wine. If you are one of those who don’t normally check your bill, I recommend you to do so! Luckily I speak Italian and could quickly see the Italian bill and identify something was wrong! I informed the waiter at the bar/cashier who quickly apologised but I’m just saying be attentive 😉More
