It is literally a meat-lover's paradise. Everything is awesome but if you go away without tasting the Fiorentina T-bone steak you miss out, big time!

We've had real good bistecca at Perseus. One thing to know is that for two persons, the minimum size is 1,2kg (those who eat 80g per meal, beware) and costs 50€, without the side dishes (potatoes, salad, beans...). Otherwise, it was good meat, rare in the inside, grilled on the outside. And the staff was very friendly and efficient. It... More

An Italian colleague recommended to me Perseus in Florence during a family visit. My wife, daughter and I visited for Dinner. The palce is really nice, with the feel of a traditional restaurant. The staff was really friendly and spoke good English. We had the house wine which was decent and not expensive, and a chicken for my daughter which... More

My husband and I tried Perseus for lunch after seeing it featured on Andrew Zimmern's show. Took a cab from the city center and were seated at a table in a room full of Florentines. Lots of families enjoying Saturday lunch. Ordered the steak and roast potatoes with bruschetta and crostini to start. First they brought a complimentary bowl of... More

If you want to try Florence style steak prepared to perfection this is the place. They serve exactly what they advertise and that is a great thing! The interior is old and charming with lots of wooden tables and atmosphere. Clearly they have been at this awhile. Prices are very reasonable. We had the steak - it is served rare... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our local wine tour guide. An unassuming restaurant front gives in to an exciting interior, with low lit lighting and stuff hanging from the ceiling. The service was good, the menu is not in English but that adds to the authenticity of the place. Anyway, the steak at about 1.2-1.3kg is obvious to read... More

Nice, very busy place. Their "fiorentina" is legendary, the rest of the food is less legendary, sometimes average. So is the wine. Amazing: they only have a menu card in Italian. Is that Florence, is that 2016? So if you are in a big group and have the misfortune of speaking Italian, you will have the pleasure of translating and... More

nice atmosphere and good italian food. Their specialty is the fiorentina steak, that I have not had better somewhere else before.

What a meal! We were lucky to have been recommended this restaurant by locals and were able to have them order for us as well. Everything we ate was delicious and we had entirely too much food, but we loved trying so many items. Be sure to split the steaks ( 1 for about 3-4 people depending on how hungry... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
