A bit expensive but definitely worth it! Great wine and very nice cheese that really complements the wine. Worth a visit when you are in florence

This was my favorite stop in all of Florence..possibly in Italy. Owner took the time to taste me on a variety of wines.. including local makers (even one place that was an older gentleman and his dog that ran the winery) that he and his compadres spend a lot of time traveling around and discovering. I learned so much during... More

Loved this place - definitely need to book particularly if you want the Tasting Menu but we just had dinner - pasta was probably the best we've ever had and the beef tartare just melted in your mouth. We're not real wine buffs but we know what we like and what we don't & the wines were lovely & served... More

We did the tasting dinner in late August and it was a highlight of our time in Florence. We tasted 16 different kinds of wine, and had 8 personalized tasting dishes - for an incredibly reasonable 65 Euro per person. Price and volume aside, it was the service that really made our night. Zeno, one of the owners, personally talked... More

Forget about the other reviews that you have read where the diners were disappointed. We can only assume that they popped in without reservations and caught the staff of the three young owners in an overwhelmed state and were maybe looking for a "bargain value" meal. If you do not reserve the Wine Tasting Meal, it is only natural that... More

We stopped by this establishment after dinner to have a glass of red wine to round out the evening. The waiter overheard us making a decision to each try a glass of brunello di montalcino of different vintages and brought out 3 decanters and nine glasses so we could enjoy a "flight". This was superb service and we are greatly... More

We had reservations for a wine tasting dinner for our party of 4. That is 65 euros pp. Dinner is actually 5 or 6 small plates: crostinis and small portions of pasta. The food was good but nothing amazing. The wine tasting was interesting and Manuel, one of the owners was very engaging and knowledgeable. However, as the wine tasting... More

After reading the fabulous reviews on Trip Advisor, my husband and I visited Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina at 6:40 pm on 25th May after a visit to the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens. We sat at a table outside looking across to the Pitti Palace but were all but ignored by the wait staff until after 7:00pm. We were... More

If you are ever in Florence, this is an experience not to be missed! It's a little jewel in Florence's crown. Not a big place, dining alfresco style, but it's the experience you go for. Taxi advised if you don't know the area.. opp Palazzo Pitti, one of many Florence's palaces. Definitely go for the Taster Menu.. and you will... More

Description
Thank you for your interest in Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina.

We are a cozy wine shop and wine bar located in Piazza Pitti just across from the Pitti Palace. Our mission is to select the very best territorial, cultural and traditional wines produced in Tuscany and in Italy. Focusing on small production, high-end wines that are difficult to find anywhere else. Our options by the glass strongly represent this very specific selection. Our goal is to inform our clients of the wines and wine making process of Italy.

We have a limited but quite special food selection prepared daily by our chef. We offer an a la carte menu featuring Tuscan appetizers, cheeses, charcuterie and hand made first courses. Still, our dishes are designed to compliment your experience with our wines. We are not a restaurant with a full dining menu. Our kitchen is open from 1:00pm to 3:30 pm then again from 7:30 to 10:30. We are closed on Tuesdays.

Apart from a la carte dinning we are now proud to offer Dinner with an Owner. A truly unique experience awaits for wine lovers in Florence. One of the three owners of Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina will personally guide you through an extensive tasting of our selection of small production, high end Italian wines. Each of the three gentlemen are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Italian wines. Through the course of the tasting you will have an opportunity to learn from them about the history, culture, processes and traditions of wine making in Italy.

Your host will spend the evening working with your specific tastes to create a personalized tasting that can accommodate every wine lover, from the expert to the novice. Accompanied by a customized, tasting menu created by our Chef.

This private tasting is extremely exclusive and as such only ONE is offered per night, on Friday and Saturday nights ONLY. Tastings commonly last from 3 to 4 hours, although depending on the clients they have been known to last even longer. As such, tasting reservations are recommended for 7:00pm (19:00). Reservations are required AT LEAST 3 days in advance, based on availability. Upon reservation any and all food specifications must be confirmed such as allergies, food intolerances, vegetarians or vegans. Only ONE menu may be offered for the entire table, so any and all food restrictions will need to be applied to the meal for everyone at the table.

Dinner with an Owner is 140,00 euro per person which will include all food and wine. A keepsake copy of your customized menu with wines will be signed by the owner and given to you at the end of the night.

We also offer The Wine Club Tasting which is offered exclusively to those clients who are interested in joining The Wine Club. Created to offer clients an opportunity to discover the types of wines that make it into the selections each year and to decide what package best suits their personal taste and needs.

During the tasting clients will sample red wines that are representative of the type of wines that are chosen for The Wine Club Selections. Featuring small production, high end Italian wines and when available, our own private labels. The tasting will be accompanied by a selection of local Italian cheeses.

We are happy to offer the tasting complementary upon the completion of The Wine Club membership contract. If you would like a copy of the packet and contract for your country of residence it can be found on our website on The Wine Club Page or please let us know and we would be happy to email one to you.

The Wine Club Tasting is offered exclusively in the afternoons from 4pm to 6pm and reservations are highly recommended. The Tasting is complementary for 2 people per signed membership contract.

Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina is proud to present The Wine Tasting Lunch. A tasting menu comprised of four wines and accompanied by a three course lunch. One of the gentlemen will assist you to select the ideal wine to pair with your dishes and to please your palate from their ample selection of Bubbles, Whites and Reds. The three courses made by our Chef will change frequently and feature fresh, seasonal ingredients. You will have your choice from 2 options for appetizer, first course and dessert.

The Wine Tasting Lunch is 35,00 euro per person which will include all food and wine. Reservations are not required but are highly recommended. Our kitchen is open for lunch from 1:00pm to 3:30pm daily, except on Tuesdays as we are closed.

For reservations please let us know what date, time, name, how many people and what type of reservation you are interested in making; an a la carte lunch or dinner, a reservation for The Wine Club Tasting, Dinner With An Owner or The Wine Tasting Lunch. We are closed On Tuesdays all day.

We thank you so much for expressing your interest in us and we do very much hope to get to see you at Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina soon!

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
