Got our spots reserved for this restaurant when in the US, too many people saying they couldn't get in, and the place is in fact small. We started outside and move inside when the weather started to change. We came to lunch and started with appetizers and a wine sampler with 5 wines. The waiter explained the differences and they... We found this gem through Rick Steves as we were visiting the Piti Palace. This is the first of 2 venues brilliantly created by a team of young entrepreneurs whose elegant taste and down to earth warmth was unique in all of Florence. Their second, brand new totally inexpensive, upscale facility is called Osteria Dell Enoteca located about 8 blocks... More

We stopped by for drinks only, so cannot vouch for the food. The wine selection was excellent, and in particular, there was an extensive selection of wine by the glass (as they have a machine that preserves bottles, and allows them to have a lot open simultaneously). Service was excellent, and prices were good. Great views of Piti Palace, and... More

Wow, The interior seems small and actually is! However, wine bottles line the shelves and the outstanding customer service makes this a gem a must visit. Amidst restaurants catering mostly to tourist, this staff makes you feel as though you're a regular and they trust your judgment regarding their recommendations and descriptions. Trust them and their advice. Beet linguine can't... More

One of the best lunches we have had so far on 2 week trip around Italy. They obviously new their wine stuff and the food was amazing. The Salumi platter was divine and the friend zucchini flowers that my beautiful girlfriend had were superb. Ravioli, probably the best pasta dish we have had so far. For good food and wine... More

We happened to be staying close to the wine bar and came in by chance, and I am SO glad we did. Amazing wine always makes for a good time... but amazing wine coupled with helpful staff and an easy going atmosphere makes for the best time! We love Italian wine but tend to stay within a few varieties. We... More

We planned to go to Enoteca Pitti, but adviced to go to the new sister restaurant 600 meters up the road. A little larger and very elegant. The food was superb, especially the anchovies and the cod poached in milk. I had the very best roasted pigeon I have ever eaten. Plump, pink and perfectly cooked. Our waiter is one... More

Twenty euro flight of Chianti, ossobucco ragu, tartare, view of the Pitti. Can't go wrong. Top blokes who run it, too.

Thank you for your interest in Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina.

We are a cozy wine shop and wine bar located in Piazza Pitti just across from the Pitti Palace. Our mission is to select the very best territorial, cultural and traditional wines produced in Tuscany and in Italy. Focusing on small production, high-end wines that are difficult to find anywhere else. Our options by the glass strongly represent this very specific selection. Our goal is to inform our clients of the wines and wine making process of Italy.

We have a limited but quite special food selection prepared daily by our chef. We offer an a la carte menu featuring Tuscan appetizers, cheeses, charcuterie and hand made first courses. Still, our dishes are designed to compliment your experience with our wines. We are not a restaurant with a full dining menu. Our kitchen is open from 1:00pm to 3:30 pm then again from 7:30 to 10:30. We are closed on Tuesdays.

For reservations please let us know what date, time, name, how many people and what type of reservation you are interested in making; an a la carte lunch or dinner, a reservation for The Wine Club Tasting, Dinner With An Owner or The Wine Tasting Lunch. We are closed On Tuesdays all day.

We thank you so much for expressing your interest in us and we do very much hope to get to see you at Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina soon!

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
