To start, my wife and I emailed the restaurant a week before we came and told them about the things we dont eat. They replied by stating that they will comply with all our dietary restrictions. When we arrived, the staff were very polite and welcoming. They sat us down and started offby giving us lard butter (which we dont... More

Group of four and we went with the Chef's prix fixe dinner of 7 or 8 courses. Somewhere along the line I lost track. Modern interior with stunning views of Florence. The food was delicious as was the service and presentation. go with the flow and whatever they are bringing out is going to be wonderful.

The restaurant is only a way street so the car has to go through a long way to get to this restaurant that locates up in the hills. We sat outside in the big terrance which surrounded by beautiful greens. The night view was amazing. You see the whole Firene river. The food was great, can't say amazing but I... More

This is a chic, modern restaurant perched on the (very steep) hill that you need to climb to get here, just on the other side of the Ponte Vecchio. The hill climb is killer but worth the views on the terrace and the excellent food. It's also a more residential area so you get to see a different side of... More

The setting is beautiful. The chef was very amicable; walked around to the table at the beginning. As the meal went on, we felt we were treated differently and less-important than the other customers because we were American. Our table was rarely attended-to, the wait staff blatantly ignored us. The food, however, was good. Would not go back here or... More

I had a long, wonderful 8 course degustation lunch here on a Sunday a few weeks ago. Its in an elegant villa on top of a hill overlooking a breathtaking view of Florence. Its well worth the walk. Impeccable service but the best thing was the food. What a sublime experience. I can see why the restaurant is considered one... More

We went there for dinner last Saturday and it was already challenging to find the location. Once we succeeded we found the place quite nice, well maintained and liked the modern architectural elements inside this old palazzo building. Wonderful terrace ... must be lovely on warm summer evenings. The menu was promising and we decided to go for a 3... More

The food is an absolute stand out. Best gnocchi we've ever had (served with a beautiful duck). Rare beef with coffee and passion fruit sauce was the fish of the night. Beautiful secluded view of Florence away from the throngs of tourist. Best night out in Italy we've had thus far. Sure there were some minor coordination anomalies with the... More

This restaurant is in a fabulous setting and features a warm welcome from Fillipo Saporito, whose spirit shines through the meticulously balanced and artistically flavoured food. The tasting menu was a constant journey of delights and an adventure of tastes, varying from the subtle to the intense. Each dish brought a smile. The service was exemplary and the whole evening... La Leggenda dei Frati restaurant is located within the museum complex of Villa Bardini in Florence. The 1600s Villa is surrounded by a beautiful garden with agricultural items, ancient olive trees and fruit trees. Here the vegetable garden available to the restaurant, including fountains and waterfalls, a rare example of English style garden, overlooks the city offering an incredible landscape of Florence. In the main porch the elegantly decorated room of the restaurant merges with the cultural side of the museum hosting the works of art of the Galleria Continua of San Gimignano. So the guests will get a complete multi-sensory and cultural experience, emphasizing, together with the excellence of the art, that of the food. The Leggenda dei Frati cooking is innovative, although steeped in the culinary culture of the territory, with particular attention to the research of raw materials and respect for them

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
