I don't normally bother with bad reviews, I'm English therefore too polite to bother normally, but after making up excuses in my head for the terrible service I still thought that I'd share my experience. After spending 6 days in Tuscany my experience in bars and restaurants has been one of friendliness and patience with my poor Italian language skills.... More

Pricey, condensing service, not so tasty either. Tap water tasted like dead rats, pizza was ok and the chianti was the worst I had in Florence

We stopped for a drink and shared a cheese pizza. Pretty standard order on our part. It was what we asked for and the service was standard Italian service. Only 4 stars bc it was not a stand out spot.

I was there with some italian friends yesterday night after having been told the food and the atmosphere was great there. That's true!! As you go in, Vania, the owner all her staff make you feel at home with a lovely traditional tuscany cuisine and furniture. The location is perfect for a walk along Lungarno and In the city centre.... More

We were very happy to stumble upon this place after visiting Piazzale Michelangelo. They were very accomodating. The wine was great, as could be expected. The little wine bar has seats. They also have a decent number of smaller tables. They had appetizers to snack on for free. Free WiFi is always nice too. Overall excellent wine bar.

We shared bruschetta here after visiting Piazzale Michelangelo. It was really good and filling but we couldn't help but think that the drinks were overpriced (a can of Coke Zero was €4!). The bathroom also was quite a shock - the toilet seat is badly cracked and the soap dispenser doesn't work. Overall, a nice spot for a late lunch... More

This is by far the worst restaurant in Florence and probably in all Italy. We ordered a lasagna and a roasted chicken with potatoes (part of the day menu) and we waited a long time for the items to be served. ( you almost think they were making them from fresh) The lasagna a la bolognese was cold in the... More

Bevo Vino is a small wine bar, restaurant on the opposite side of the Arno River from the historic center of Florence. When you walk down from the Piazzale Michelangelo back to Florence center, you pass right by Bevo Vino. There are several other restaurants clustered together in a small square where several streets come together and Bevo Vino looks... More

What a mistake to stop here! This is a wine bar. Food is terrible. Pizza bases are bought in, we suspected them to be frozen. They should be embarrassed to serve this in Florence. This was the only bad meal our family had during one week in Florence. Don t get caught like we did!

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighborhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
