We had first stopped here for aperitifs in May 2022 and enjoyed it so much we returned a few more times for Negronis and Aperol spritz. The restaurant, situated on a small piazza in San Niccolo, is quite lively. Subsequent visits we met lovely locals,...students, tourists there. The owners, Carlotta and Gerardo, are welcoming and friendly. They treated everyone with courtesy and we felt like ‘regulars’ rather than newbies. Such lovely hosts. When we returned to Firenze recently for two weeks we knew we had to return and we did. We ate a delicious lunch with a lovely bottle of wine that included their Spaghetti Boccadarno (not to be missed) and tuna tataki. Both were delicious and we immediately made reservations to return a few nights later for dinner. When we did, we selected a fresh fish, Rombo, cooked to perfection by chef Patrick. We were shown the fish by Jacobo and he explained how it would be prepared. He also made recommendations for a fine Sicilian wine to compliment it. Chef Patrick came to our table to present the cooked meal. Wow! What a delicate and lovely meal. Jacobo was a wonderful, outgoing server. He really managed the room (mostly locals) well and importantly, has great rapport with guests, the owners and the chef. If you’re in Firenze, take a break from the crowds and cross the Arno to San Niccolo and Boccadarno. You’ll be glad you did. Ciao and grazie mille, Doug and DanMore

Another wonderful evening enjoying the sublime wonderful flavors of simple fine cooking. Both Monday and today Friday perfectly cooked fish. I should know I live in Maine on Penobscot Bay. Fresh is one thing but knowing how to cook fish is another talent many do...no have. Both visits have been wonderfil in everyway. Service, the meal, everything. We delighted in both visits. We've been coming to Italy since 2004 and have tried to stay all of March. We try to stay put and really enjoy our time here. I recommend Boccadarno with all my heart. Enjoy!More

A small and chic place in the San Nicolo square with dishes based on fish. Everything I tried here was very tasty and the staff is very kind. If you want a fish dinner on the way or from the Bardini Gardens or Michelangelo Square,...I recommend the Boccadarno restaurant in Florence.More

We went here two nights in a row during our stay in florence - we never do that! But it is so worth it! The location is idyllic, on the way to or from the Piazzale Michelangelo. The restaurant offers both in- and ourdoor seating....The service: really good. The personale is attentive and knowledgable. The food: incredible! The tuna! The swordfish! The groper. Perfect starter with prawns in sweet and sour sauce. Perfect wine pairing. Try the pistaccio mousse for dessert!! We loved it all, and Wil reccomend it highly!More

We had a pleasant family dinner in Boccadarno after an exhausting climbing to the Piazzale Micchelangelo. We were late fir our reservation, but the staff was keeping our table. (Great appreciation to Carlotta!) We started with very nice cocktails, the food and the service were...excellent. I highly recommend!More

Badest Restaurant in Italy i have been the last 20 years. We‘ve tried the carbonara di mare (no carbonara sauce, just oil sauce, see the picture) then we had the octopus with potato mash. The potatomash was a really fluide sauce or soup with no...flavour.. really really dissapointing! We tell it to the waiter, they was really not interessed… dont go to eat there!!! The worst restaurant…More

We stumbled across this wonderful restaurant on our way to watch the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo. Everything was delicious from the fresh and icy cocktails to our courses of tasty seafood. We had the monkfish and prawn appetizers and mains were octopus, tuna and another...light fish. All were seasoned perfectly…tasty but light so the flavor really came through. Staff was super friendly and had recommendations. Our waiter topped our meal with some delicious limoncello. It was a great meal and experience.More

This friendly restaurant was a lovely find with great tasting food at a reasonable price. Our server Carlotta was really helpful, her explanation of the food was spot on and she gave us plenty time between course to enjoy it. All the fish was cooked...simply and beautifully from our pasta primo to baked swordfish (a large portion) and sea bass with potatoes. A beautiful bottle of white wine helped us enjoy our whole experience. Thanks Carlotta and hope to see you when we visit again.More

Excellent seafood restaurant in a quiet street. The prices were reasonable (25 € for tasty gnocci with seafood and a glass of wine) and the staff were very kind. I'm considering going back for dinner.

My wife and I settled on this place after visiting Piazza Michelangelo and it did not disappoint. We had the stuffed calamari for a starte., I had the mixed seafood risotto which came with shrimp, clams, calamari and mussels. My wife had the squid ink...agnolotti which was stuffed with salmon and cheese that had a slight smoked flavor and was delicious. The zucchini and tomatoes were served on the side. The food was probably our favorite meal in Italy and all in was about 55 euros with a bottle of the house red. The staff was extremely attentive and accommodating. I'm ready to go back.More

Just walk in after you descend from the Michel Angelo square late(r) in the afternoon, have a cocktail on the way back to the center and book your table. Second time we called them, just as easy.
