We were proposed a shortened tasting menu and felt short-changed by the tiny portions that we were served. It's a shame because the food was excellent but we left feeling hungry. To give you an example, my desert was one teaspoon of chocolate with nothing...else on the plate. Not great considering the high price. On a different note, they were very accommodating to our allergies (gluten and dairy) which was nice to see.More
Tasting menu with wine pairings was interesting, well paced, well explained, generously portioned, relaxing, and delicious. A highlight meal of our trip to Florence. It’s a beautiful, rustic spot. We had the table nearest the kitchen and that added to the fun. Our main server,...Josephine, was knowledgeable, had a sense of humor, and enhanced our positive experience. The other servers including the wine server were also knowledgeable and polite. We never felt rushed or watched: the service felt organic and well-paced.
We would definitely come here again and recommend it to others looking for a special meal.More
This is a wonderful restaurant experience. The ambience is calm and serene, the welcome and service are excellent, and the food, all locally sourced, is delicious. The crème brûlée of foie gras and the pigeon breast were real highlights. Our experience at the 'Bottega del...Buon Caffè' was relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. It was, in many ways, a Tuscan equivalent to the Australian restaurant 'Brae' in country Victoria.More

This restaurant is stupendous!! I have eaten at numerous Michelin stared restaurants around the world and this place is without doubt right up there with the best!
The service from the welcome, to laying out cutlery, to cleaning the table, to pouring wine before I...had a chance to and fully explaining everything and where it came from was outstanding!
All I’ll say about the food is.... look at the pictures!! It tasted even better than it looked! I don’t need to say anymore about that!! You can choose how many courses you want and the prices are reasonable for what you are getting. We met the owner, the chefs and got very lucky it was lunchtime and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves with full view of the kitchen!!
We got engaged on the same day and were even given extra courses as a compliment by the staff!!
We will definitely be back and can’t wait!
This is a MUST when in Florence!! Thanks to all the staff at La Bottega Del Buon Caffe for adding to our special dayMore
My wife and I wanted to end our first trip to Florence with a flourish and doing so at La Bottega del Buon Caffe was a great choice.
The service was exceptional from the moment we pulled up in our cab - greeted kerbside by...the restaurant, a lovely touch - to the moment we left and they tucked us into a cab home.
Nothing was too much trouble and yet it felt perfectly relaxed and like having dinner at a friends.
The tables are well sized, well spaced and everyone has a good view of the immaculate, well ordered kitchen. It’s fun to watch the chefs at work, creating the wonderfully creative dishes that arrive at your table.
We decided to go a la carte and choose the dishes that sounded most appealing from the tasting menu, and the sommelier kindly suggested a suitable bottle of white wine to try with our choices, plus a single glass of red for my lamb course.
Everything was excellent.
For a Monday night the restaurant was buzzy but not busy, and the flow from kitchen to plate was paced perfectly.
All-in-all, a first class evening and I would highly recommend it.More
We went for dinner at La Bottega del Buon Caffee at 7:30pm and were the first customers (it seems Italians eat later).Set close to the river Arno, near a landmark tower, we initially sat outside in a warmed festive area while our table was prepared...and then took our table in a lovely setting with open kitchen. The restaurant never felt too busy or anything hurried, and the courses came at a good pace – not rushed, but no obvious waiting. The kitchen was obviously well managed and unrushed but visible and active. We had the 7-course tasting menu, indulgently with the tasting wines (well worth it). The service was excellent. We particularly liked the creme brulée fois gras and the rabbit ravioli, but pretty much every course was excellent. The Italian wines were excellent, complemented the meal, and a good decision. Lots of interesting and delicious choices. The wines were well described and came before the course, which was nice (terrible when they come late). Our main host was Josephine, who looked after us extremely well. All in all it was a wonderful and memorable evening, and we had a chance to meet the chef, Antonello Sardi, and say thank you after our meal. If we are back in Florence (we hope so) we will be back to La Bottega..More
We had the most amazing dinner tonight. We are traveling through Italy with my 88 year old mother for her birthday and couldn’t have been happier with this choice of restaurant. The service was warm and lovely while being exceptionally informative and considerate. The food...was so inventive and special care was taken to showcase the ingredients of the region. Special note for me was the attention given to my mama. The over all experience was perfection. Grazie Mille!More
We have eaten our last 3 meals in one star Michelin restaurants in the Florence- lucky us! This is at the top of the list in food, presentation and ambiance. The service was warm and helpful. They noticed that I had a head cold and...offered ginger tea. If I was voting I would definitely give this restaurant a second star!More
