We went to this restaurant because it was very close to the place we were staying. The ambience is very simple and homey as was the food, simple italian food and good. The service was regular and we were treated well.

Went for the second time to this restaurant at lunchtime. Fine dining it isn't. But a great buzz, solid food at very fair prices. Barely a tourist in the very packed out restaurant (13:00 on a Sunday).

We were already seated when we were asked to move to another table to accommodate an Italian couple. The entire menu is in Italian. The waiter had little patience when we asked for an explanation of the main course items. The food was mediocre, tasteless but...expensive. There is also a 2 euro surcharge per person! We were charged for wine we did not get. No dessert menu or coffee was offered. We were rushed out, table cleared while still drinking a glass of water. TERRIBLE STAY AWAY!!More

Averige food, but really rude and impolite service. Plenty of good restaurants in the neighbourhood, so I advice to go elsewhere.

fantastic steak for the meat eaters and great soup for the vegetarians, followed by delicious cheesecake

This restaurant is very local, not touristy, and amazing. Make reservations for dinner or stop by for an amazing lunch.

Wow.....packed in like sardines, pretty much ignored by waiters, when we got their attention they behaved as though they were busy, make a decision.... Food came quickly...wine came quickly, Zappa di verdure was ok at best, then a half chicken grilled.....was drier than the Sahara....Yikes. Barking waiters. Tighter tables than it seems possible. Line ups waiting...(and for what?) Waiters anxious to shift diners. (I heard one tell a table of two they "needed the table") Not a good experience. Why the line up??? Why???? Average food. Rushed diners. Rushed service. Non era Bello. Non mi piace.More

We went in as tourists for lunch at around 2pm. Like quite a few restaurants in the area they close at 2.30pm until reopening for dinner. ( Try and get good service in the UK half an hour prior to closing). We were not rushed...in anyway and the service was friendly and first class. The menu was in Italian but with a little fathoming out and help from the waiter we eventually arrived at our required order. I had a shell fish selection with pasta which turned out to be one of the best meals I had on the trip. The quality was good and it was good value for the price. ( As a side note we did find prices south of the river in Florence more favourable than those in the city itself). No complaints on this one just sorry we did not have time to return.More

I'm really surprised by some of the reviews on here - we are tourists, and we were treated very well in this restaurant. We actually found it by chance, after discovering that another restaurant we wanted to visit was closed for no apparent reason; luckily...Trattoria del Carmine was on the same block. We arrived not too long before they were closing for the afternoon, but they did not hurry us at all. The food was excellent, in fact one of the best meals I had all week. I had mushroom risotto - the rice was lovely and fluffy, and the dish was seasoned to perfection. I really couldn't fault this place at all, and would happily recommend it to anyone.More

While the food was good (not exceptional), we were treated as an irritation. Sat at a very small table for two as a party of three. Waiter impatient in taking our order and we almost left. Won’t be going back!
