This was recommended by our dear friends at the St. Regis in Florence. Great food and service. Super quaint setting with a spiral staircase that takes you up to the bathroom... After a few drinks this was a bit harder to access:) Our waiter was very helpful and fun. I had Bistecca alla Fiorentina which was great and a delicious... More

We want to avoid tourist restaurant and try real t-bone stake like local. So we ask Our apartment front desk to get some advice, she highly recommend this restaurant. We hear that this restaurant is over hundert year the decoration are delicate. We ordered 1kg stake, spinach as side dish and spaghetti with clams, and shared with one glass chianti.... More

This is an excellent choice for a meal in Venice. We stayed at a hotel near by and ate there two times; varied menu with good service; some locals and tourists; sophisticated customers. Can't go wrong here. It isn't five star dining, but we weren't looking for that. I would rate it much better than average but not Michelin, but... More

All the walls and ceilings are covered with fresci and the food is superbly prepared the traditional way which makes it a delight to dine here. The service is attentive and friendly without being doting.

Happened to find this restaurant while walking back to our hotel and give it a go. So glad we did as this is a jewel you could easily miss. Great food and atmosphere with attentive staff really welcoming. So enjoyable we went back a second time during our stay. Highly recommended.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Florence. The Ribolita is the best and as an appetizer it is very filling. Service was excellent as well as the food

What a beautiful place for dinner. It was a stable and then a church and now a lovely restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was wonderful. There were five of us and we had a mixture of food and wine and all loved the choice that they had made. Very easy to get to, which made it all... More

It started raining so we quickly started looking for a place for dinner, not reading reviews in advance. We were pleasantly surprised to see the frescoes on the walls and learned that the restaurant had been a church. We shared lasagna, served on separate plates, and I had salmon and my husband had grilled lamb, and we shared a salad.... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
