Absolutly the worst restaurant ever. If it was possible to give zero stars, that's what they deserve. VERY BAD SERVICE, rude staff that don't even listen, unbelievable.

I went with my family to Florence, saw Osteria Santo Spirito on Tripadvisor before leaving California - it should be renamed from Holy Spirit to something else. We arrived in Florence by train from Rome, checked into our hotel and walked to the other side...of the river in the hot sun - we were excited and looking forward to a great meal. I have two near teenagers and a 6 year old. I would have sat my family down, but thought to ask out of respect for table for five. Place looked less than quaint, saw better walking there, but presumable good food. It was lunch time busy, but tables were definitely open. Woman says "ah, we don't have a table for you" - and turns her back on me. Perplexed, I said "excuse me?" In most cultures that's a no-no.My kids asked -why don't they want to serve us? I was so offended that she made my kids feel that way. I did not tell her to go someplace because of my wife. We looked and they were only seating couples - this must be how they game their rating up Trip Advisor. I am not the only one with a family that notes this. We went across the plaza to the restaurant diagonally across the plaza, that was very joyful, mixed crowd, and staff working hard and appreciating their customers - I thank the real Espírito Santo for leading us there!More

There appears to be mixed reviews here for this tiny place tucked away on the south side of Firenze. All I can say is that when we visited, we had a terrific experience. Food was simple but well executed and it made me smile, which...is always a good thing. In fact, its the only meal I still refer to when talking about our trip to Firenze. It was busy, so not the fastest but really, cannot complain. To cap it all, it was extremely reasonable....had to check the bill twice.More

Avoid like the plague - or COVID. My one year old dropped a piece of bread - not a cardinal sin. A manager came over and berated my wife about feeding the birds. Surprising in Italy where children are cherished and manners are usually plentiful....They never brought my other child’s side dish, and then became very rude when we politely asked for it. Another table told us they believed they had our side dish because they hadn’t ordered said dish. For what it’s worth - I speak Italian fluently and have lived in Italy for years. 0 Holy Spirit in this locale despite the name.More

I would have given this restaurant 5 stars except that it was really cold inside. And the service was meh. But the gnocchi was beyond exception. My husband had the gnocchi with ragu which he loved and I had the gnocchi with some yummy cheese...concoction which was amazing. Ate every morsel. House chianti was good! Would definitely go back again. Osteria Santo Spirto is located on a lively square that has a wonderful market on Sundays. Well worth the walk across the Arno from where we stayed!More

Staff were really rude and when we asked why you brought our starters after main course, they got so angry and then when we told them we don’t have enough space to put all the starters and main courses on the table they took all...the foods and threw all the dishes on the table and almost attacked us and said “shut up” to my daughter!!!! Still I can’t believe what they did to their customers….. 😳😳😤😤😤 Not recommended at allllllllll👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽More

Charming restaurant inside a peaceful square with good Italian cuisine dishes. Besides it offers good value for money.

The very rustic environment and down to earth attitude gives a “real feel” of Florentine atmosphere, even thought the place is in touristic Piazza Santo Spirito. No-nonsense attitude and truly good food, and a pleasant surprise of fresh fruits at the end of the meal....Recommend booking as the place is small.More

Really good pasta dishes. Served hot and cooked to perfection. Every dish was delicious. Seems to always be packed, so make a reservation! Somewhere that I’d return in the future.

I can look past what I consider sort of rude servers because the food was so amazing, that trumped everything. The gnocchi with cheese was delicious. When I realized how much I ate, I stopped. My wife had a great eggplant dish. It had rained...for a few hours before we got there so that might have had something to do with the server attitudes but the food was so good we would gladly go back. I would rate the restaurant higher than a 5 just based on the food.More

We discovered this place in our area stroll, saw a lot of people and great smell coming from it so we decided to enter. That was the first visit of many in our 10 days stay in Florence. We tried almost everything in the menu...and was not disappointed. Prices are reasonable, food portions are generous. The spaghetti al pomodoro, the rigatoni al ragú and dried ricotta are excellent and definitely the gnocchi are the best. Beers and wine are very reasonably priced. Service was fast and attentive in every occasion. Would definitely recommend. They close from 3 pm to 7 pm so be sure to make a reservation of you plan to go for dinner. It is always packed.More

Awful place, felt like a tourist trap. The food was really bad and the owner was extremely rude. Not a good choice in Florence.

Very disappointing. It's in a popular location but food was very average and the service below expectations. Ordered a nice bottle of red wine, but they didn't use decent wine glasses (I asked, the response was "we're an osteria"... bad answer and what if I'd...ordered a $100 wine from the list?)More

Entirely average food on a wonderful Piazza in Santo Spirito. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss this area on your visit to Florence. There are, however, far better choices for food. The kind of meal you wish you hadn’t eaten so you could go...somewhere else. Server was a nice kid who had no idea what he was doing. We had to ask for water he forget, items of the meal weren’t delivered, and when they were, we just assume would have not received.More

The menu offers a variety of nice dishes, probably not enough of tuscan specialties but everything looked great non the less. Prices are correct and there is a possibility to order reduced portions which is good since normal portion is quite big. As entrée they...brought us variety of breads with olives spread and at the end we received from them strawberries with chocolate which was a nice touch. Waitress was nice, communicative and the service was fast. Will probably go back tomorrow :)More

This restaurant is busy and fills quickly. Food is cooked from fresh which increases waiting times too. So I would suggest you get there early or reserve.
