Dinner for two

We have been here twice in one week, first was wild boar pasta real chunky and home made mmm also try the Caprese salad mmm, the female favorite. The next time was for their T-bone steak very good indeed about 1 kilo and around 60Eu you will have to push to finish it well enough for two. Cheers JD

We were just passing whilst walking around Florence when one of our party of seven said "I've heard of this place" and as it was lunchtime, we went in. Its local to a remarkable degree but all the better for it. The bill doesn't tell me exactly what we had except it was 5 primo piatti (pizza) and 2 secondo... More

We stumbled upon Caffe Italiano whilst looking for another restaurant. After 30 minutes of being lost we decided to eat here instead and were so glad we did. We sat outside in a pretty little street, it was nicely lit and had a really relaxed atmosphere. Service was good and the waiters were friendly. We both had the fillet steak... More

My wife and I coincidentally crossed paths with my sister and her husband in Florence recently, with independently planned holidays that included an overlapped couple of days in Florence. We wanted to meet up for dinner and chose Caffe Italiano because it was somewhere in between where they were staying and our hotel and it had reasonably good reviews. We... More

Our taxi driver recommended this place to us. It was hard to find from the road, but such a good find when we came across it. Lovely atmosphere inside and a warm lovely attentive hostess. Three pizza options only, and they had the basic Margherita pizza for our kids. At $8 per pizza, we tried all three. Great value for... More

There is small pizzeria just next to Caffe Italiano so do not mistake the two. The pizzeria offers just three choices of pizza for very nice price. We ordered the Napoli one and waited a little bit longer than expected as there were not so many people inside. The pizza itself was very tasty and delicious although a bit salty.... More

We just passed this place on the lookout for somewhere to eat for dinner. Didn't appear to be any locals in here, it seemed purely aimed at tourists, but the food we ordered was pretty good, the service friendly and a good wine recommendation.

The worst experience in a lovely city. We were recommended to eat at the restaurant, but post-dinner we would Never suggest the same to any friends, or even our enemies. The place is in an out of the way hole-in-the-wall and the objective is to serve garbage in the name of food

A great little cafe serving authentic Italian classics, with character and charm. And you if you want a brilliant waitor, with charm himself - ask for the bearded waitor - Mustafa. An inspirational chap.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
