All I can say is I love this place. It represents everything Fiorentino. The food is 100% on point and everything is beyond delicious and very well made. You will find that it's always busy at night. The locals love to eat there. The primi...are made to perfection and the bistecca is truly mouth watering and very big. This is a real local Fiorentine experience that can not be missed.More

As a long-time fan of Ina Garten's penne vecchia bettola (penne vodka), I had to try this trattoria when I discovered it was a few blocks from my hotel. Seldom is the original dish better than the "famous" one, but in this case, the penne...stands out as being one of the best pastas I've ever had. We had several of their other local dishes, all were great, we would have liked to return to try more but ran out of time...and stomach...More

We ate lunch twice at Vecchia Bettola during our 5 days in Florence and loved it both times. It's just what you want a neighborhood Italian restaurant to be, friendly, casual, excellent food and a lively ambiance. The tables are long shared marble topped tables...with benches and stools. The crowd is about 75% local regulars and a few tourists mixed in. The menu changes with the season and everything we had was great. Service is friendly and prices very reasonable. Both days it got quite busy around 1 pm, so if you want to be seated immediately get there earlier or make a reservation.More

We were at Vecchia Bettola on saturday evening. Nice restaurant, where you can seat at a table close to other eating people . If you are touchy it is not the right place. If you are nice and sociable, it is ok. Because first of...all for the wine, you pay € 4,00 and you can serve yourself from the flask with house wine. you can taste very good local cuisine as the first dishes penne alla "Vecchia bettola" are very tasty, same for tagliatelle with artichokes. As second dishes a wide selection, i choose the carpaccio with artichokes, very good.Good selection of dessert. Correct bill.More

When my wife and I travel we seek out where the locals recommend and dine. Alla Vecchia Bettola is such a place in Florence. This is my favorite restaurant in the city. The restaurant is away from the tourist section of Florence. We met friends...from the states and had a fabulous time. The lemon meatballs were the best meatballs I have ever tasted. The pasta with vodka sauce was buonissimo! Alla Vecchia Bettola is our Florence favorite and will be visited again when we return.More

Came across this place quite by accident. It was extremely busy but we grabbed the last 2 seats outside. The food was fantastic! Perfect pasta, amazing meatballs and unlimited house wine for €4! Service was great too!

Brilliant restaurant with great food, excellent service and a lively, authentic atmosphere. You would be crazy not to eat here and spend some quality time in this awesome eatery. You will probably need to make a reservation.

This place was very friendly and had a family feel to it. The food and wine were great! The only downside was that this place did not have an English menu, but rather someone trying to explain the dishes, which made ordering slightly difficult.
