Recommended by friends and quite out of the way (long walk) from the tourist areas. Great dinner (I had rabbit). Service wasn't the greatest and the waiter was a bit surly (I think because we do not speak italian). Outdoor seating was very crowded but all in all a very good dinner.

Beautifully simple Italian food, cooked perfectly and with an ever-changing menu. The highlight of our visits was the Fiorentina T-bone steak; it really was the best beef I've ever eaten, anywhere. Don't waste any more time reading this, get down there and tuck in!

We have ate twice and both have Been fantàstic. It's a diferent restaurant where you have to share table with other People, but you eat authentic florentino food, as in the past. Good Service with giovanni and Tomás

This restaurant is a little "out of the way" of the usual tourist spots and that's why we loved it. The fresh pasta was delicious and so were the appetizer plates. The bisteca fiorentina was, for me, so-so. I feel that the steaks in NY are much better. Nevertheless, it was still a very enjoyable meal, great atmosphere.

We had a brilliant meal here on a recent visit to Florence. Situated beyond the main 'tourist area' and by a busy road it remains well worth a visit. Also worth mentioning is the street 'bar' just across the road, well worth dropping in for an aperitivo! The restaurant was extremely busy with a mixture of locals and tourists (booking... More

We had lunch here, anti pasti - the one with figs is especially good, followed by several pasta, the restaurant;s signature dish was delicious. We went on to have Liver, Fish, Pigeon, Pork with Figs and Chicken salad, all were delicious. We sat outside and were not bothered by the traffic. Wait staff were very helpful, excellent service.

In a touristy city like Florence, it can be challenging to find local, authentic experiences. Its a bit of a walk after you cross the Arno, but the journey is worth it. We dined for lunch and everyone else in the restaurant was Italian. We were with friends so we had our own table, but most groups were sharing. We... More

This is a great authentic restaurant and I highly recommend it. The food was awesome and kids had perfect half portions. The house wine is 4 euros per person for as much as you want during the meal. I shall try to be helpful by just listing the reasons you may choose not to go. 1) you share tables with... More

We have been living in Firenze for almost four years now. Alla Vecchio Bettola is one of our absolute favorite restaurants. Always a lot of Italians, fantastic food, nice people and a good location. Typical Italian food. Always top homemade quality. We always bring friends visiting and they are never disappointed. My favorite dish is the Penne ala Bettola. Superb.... More

We were fortunate to get a reservation at La Vecchia Bettola at the last minute. It was a beautiful night, and we sat outside, at family style tables. The pasta to begin was very good, but the Florentine steak for which they are famous was fabulous. We sat next to businessmen who were in Florence for men's fashion week--so fun... More
