We had been in Italy for a week and happened upon this restaurant near our B&B. The atmosphere is authentic as is the food. Service was cordial and very fast. The tandoori chicken was the most tender and flavorful I have ever had. The spices in the vegetables and rice were beautifully balanced. It was such a nice change from... More

The reviews you will see of the Haveli Indian Restaurant are all accurate. The food was terrific the service exemplary. The owner takes time to visit his guests making sure all is as expected. The waiters are attentive and helpful. If you like Indian food or need something different to Pasta Pizza etc i cannot recommend this place highly enough.

This restaurant is so friendly and helpful. If you have a taste for authentic fresh Indian food cooked to the highest standard....then this is the place. You can drop in, but a reservation will make sure you are not disappointed. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Highly recommend hunting down this restaurant for an escape from all the Italian restaurants.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
