I almost hate to share this little gem as it is so genuine. The restaurant is attached to an alimentari/delicatessen. The food is excellent, typical simple Tuscan fare. Siro is an enthusiastic host and loves sharing his food. The service is gracious, the prices are very reasonable (we always choose the fixed price offering) and the setting is relaxed.

We went as part of our tour so they opened especially for us. We were made so welcome it was like eating with a family in their home. We were made to feel so welcome, like we were old friends. We walked a considerable distance from our hotel in Via Nationaile only to find that the gentleman only opened his restaurant in the mornings during the week and on Wednesday afternoons Please show opening times on your website so as to avoid confusion and potential customers making the assumption that you are open in the evenings

This is an amazing little place that is off the tourist track just on the edge of the town centre. Food here is good, plentiful and healthy, Siro the owner is the perfect host, explaining all the fresh dishes he serves with great aplomb and obvious pride in his work. If you want great food and are hungry but do... More

Leonardo, Botticelli, Brunelleschi, Masaccio and ... Siro! If you're in Florence you cannot miss a lunch, a dinner or an apericena at Siro's place! Here you find the typical Florentine food and atmosphere. Siro is extremely nice, food and wine are excellent and prices are very honest!!! I love Siro's panzanella!!! Local people used to have dinner or apericena here,... More

For 20 euro fixed price, our party had 3courses, wine, water. The food was so delicious, brushetta with fresh tomatos, meat courses, pudding, tomato bread crumb soup. My. stomach was full and it hurt so good. Best place to eat for a fixed price.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
