This restaurant was just amazing. We were seated at the back, on little benches and a wooden bench table. The menu of the day we were presented with was small, but there was still so much choice. It was late in the evening and we were not after full meals as we had a late lunch. We settled on the Tuscan Stew and Cheese Board, which 3 of us shared. The stew was the best that we have eaten in Tuscany, and the portion was very generous. All of the bread and cheeses were fresh and delicious too! The drinks were very reasonably priced and the red wine was simply poured from a little tap, which was charming! We would definitely come back the next time we are in Florence!!

I spent a few months living on this street as a student in Autumn. Hence, I am rather well-acquainted with the best places on it. La Fettunta is certainly one of these and really does make exceptional sandwiches which are many times better than All'antico vinaio for the same price (and an absence of the 30-minute queue). Sadly, I cannot recommend anything individually because each thing I was served was so nice..

We absolutely loved our food so much that we returned a second day. The lasagna is the best we’ve had and we don’t believe we will ever be able to eat lasagna again without thinking about the special restaurant. The next day we came back to try the eggplant Parmesan. It was just as good as the lasagna. We also had the chicken liver pate on bread and wonderful salad with olives and cheese. If you want to try truly authentic and memorable Italian food this is the place. Georgia, one of the many waitresses that helped a select dishes, was really a great hostess as were they all. We may return to Florence simply to have a chance to eat here again.

The host is very nice, the food is done with care and generally the experience is great. You should try a bottle of their prosecco with any sandwich. If you are like us and want to try lots of stuff, you can ask for 1/2 sandwiches

The waitress greeted us with a smile at the entrance and lead the way to our table. The staff were all very polite and friendly. We didn’t have to wait for the food very long. We ordered lasagna, gnocchi and eggplants dish and for dessert we had the panne cotta. The food was tasty and the service balanced between giving you attention as a customer and letting you enjoy your meals. It was a very good experience and I’d recommend this place.
Maybe the only thing that could have made it even better was paying attention to a customer who was leaving but kept walking around with no mask and getting too close to other tables.

I went to a restaurant, which was recommended by the hotel, my first night in Florence to try to famous Bistecca ala Fiorentina. It was both crazy expensive, 82 euro per kilo, and the service was not good. So, on the second night, i walked around and found La Fettunta! It had all the characteristics of the kind of place I like, small and charming.
We were greeted by Giorgia, a very friendly and happy waitress. She made me feel welcome and took the time the explain the story about the beef and suggested some great wine. The great thing was that they charged 35 euro per kilo, yes, less than half of the other place. Let me tell you, the experience was so much better. The steak was amazing, much tastier than the one the night before.
Do not miss this place when you go to Florence. It is not fancy, but cozy and it provides a great family feeling. Most importantly, the food is great.
I hope you will enjoy the place as much as I did.

A friend who lived in Florence for 7 years recommended this restaurant to us, so having done the Pitti Palace and the Ponte di Vecchio, we turned left at the Piazza di Vecchio and wandered into what seemed a very touristy street will lots of people eating Pannini from a take-away with a reputation for them.
We found our restaurant but initially entered through the take-away side which was packed, not impressed we turned to leave but luckily our Italian speaker asked is there a table to sit at and we were asked to go to the other entrance, there we got a table right inside a cool authentic dining area.
This was the ‘real thing’ and we were delighted to had stuck with the recommendation.
Fast friendly service, this was Toscana food at its best, I’d highly recommend the ‘parmigiana di melanze alla Toscana’, but all items on the menu seemed great and well prepared. Prices were very reasonable too.
For all you weary Florentine tourists who may think your in a tourist trap street, search out this little gem and you won’t be disappointed.

I went to this restaurant three times over the course of a week in Florence both with friends and alone. The restaurant was recommended by a local and it truly has excellent food at a very good price. The staff is amazing welcoming, professional and they have a great sense of humor which made the experiences a lot of fun. All of the pasta is homemade and the portion sizes are generous so don’t order a first and second plate.

This place was amazing and delicious!! We arrived 30 min before closing time but they were willing to serve us and were even welcoming and nice about it. Not only was the service great but the food was outstanding! We didn’t read any reviews or anything about the restaurant so we didn’t know how the food was but let me tell you that it more than we expected! They had the best lasagna we had tried, the ham and cheese plate was really good and the house wine was one of the best we had tried in Florence so far. Prizes were also accessible. We will definitely go back on our next trip to Florence. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Went there on the 14th of August with my family, we had no reservation and were asked by the waitress if we had booked and then when we answered no we were told they were full which is fair (though no offer to come back later or to wait).
We went back on August 15th at lunch and this time the very same waitress didn't even ask if we had a reservation she just told us they were full.
We waited a bit nearby as we were looking through oyr mobile for other options and a French family came, were asked if they had a reservation and they answered no but were let in....
(Oh by the way my family of 3 may look Asian but we are French natve speakers)
Our little boy was eager to eat the meat skewer and Fiorentine steak but obviously that establishment has a major issue accepting some customers.
We now have been in Firenze for 5 days, every single restaurant we went to accepted us ( some after some time waiting for a table of course).
I must therefore recommend to Asian tourists to stay away from that restaurant.

This small restaurant is very close to Antico Vinaio, but it is much less crowded and they have delicious paninos. We had "Il Magnifico" panino, as the owner recommended us and 2 glases of good wine. The prices were really affordable and the panino was big enough to split it.
We discovered this wonderful place by chance, while wondering on the streets next to Piazza della Signoria. We will definetely return! ❤️

Incredible food at a very good price - we wish we were not leaving Florence tomorrow so we could come again! The wait staff were so friendly and made the experience very memorable. The portions are very generous (and we eat a lot so that is saying something). We made it through the first course of gnocchi and Ragu but could not finish the shared second course (spicy beef stew and baked potatoes) as we were so full so we took it home instead! The house red wine was excellent and at 3.50 euros for a very generous glass we wish that there was room for more. All in all a great dining experience. The waiter even added a bag of bread for us to take home with our leftovers which was so kind. Make sure to make a reservation as it fills up quickly and we were unable to get in on previous nights.

Turisti che affollano il dirimpettaio solo per il nome, quando qui c’è qualità e gentilezza Toscana da vendere.
Dear tourists,
stop queuing in front of “L’Antico Vinaio” just because it is famous.
Here you can find the same taste and the same quality even for a cheaper price!
The staff is very polite and smiling: in this place you can have the better, real, slow, authentic Tuscan experience you’re searching for… don’t be reluctant just for a lack of sponsorship! <3

We fancied a Tuscan sandwich and wanted to see what all of the fuss was about regarding the place next door to Fettunta. The queue was insanely long so we chose Fettunta instead due to its great reviews. The ‘fattore’ sandwich was amazing; so full of sausage, cheese and truffle! It was 7 euros per sandwich which 2 people could easily share at lunch time. We were so impressed.
Moral of the story: the tourist trap with the huge queue probably isn’t worth your time. Go to Fettunta instead!

The food was great (the meat very tender, the sauce and ingredients very good quality). What made it better was the axing value; such good prices for how much food you get. The service was also excellent and we had a great waiter who was funny and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cheap place to eat.
