It would be a nice dinner with family however we had a rude customer service. The waiter was an ogre, he refused to provide wifi password as also grumble when we asked something else. The pizza was not good, too burned with lot of coal. The waiter told us the restaurant's marguerita was like that well done. So, we just... More

We stayed in Florence for 5 nights and visited this restaurant for dinner twice. That should tell you enough as there were a lot of options. We ordered pizza and ravioli and they were lovely as well as the staff. Would definitely go back if i was in Florence again in the future.

When you find a screw in your rissoto, you kind of expect them to give you a discount instead of informing you that they found which pan it came from. Our food: margarita pizza, minestrone soup, and mushroom rissota were marginal at best and all needed some spice, especially pepper. Finding metal in your rice? Not nice.

The meal was so good last night that we decided to return and the service from Adelina and Manuel was exactly the same as last night as was the food, Excellent! Before we leave we will most likely return.

Out of all the places I have been for Italian food... this is the best! Great customer service. Great food. Great wine. Great atmosphere. If you are in Florence, go here. Faultless!

This restaurant was very close to our AirB&B near Via Del Moro and so I chanced upon it as I went down to get some dinner to take back home. I ordered the Margherita pizza, was under 8 Euros, about 8 slices. It was a standard pizza, nice service, friendly staff.

We came in for a light meal and ordered pizza's. Was extremely salty. How difficult can it be to make Margherita pizza in Florence Italy??? Pizza Hut even does it better. Not coming back.

The pizzas are good and reasonably priced, the service was fine, but sitting on the patio was a bad choice - traffic rumbles by only a few feet away, which means you're constantly smelling exhaust fumes while you eat. They also stamped our receipt with a "service not included in the bill," obviously trying to take advantage of tourists' ignorance,... More

A walk Oltrarno to see San Spirito and then back into Centro to find this little restaurant with two entrances on adjoining streets. A simple meal with excellent service and we met a young server from Kosovo. A lovely discussion of politics, wine and Florence ensued. A menu is one thing but such friendly and caring service cannot be bought.... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
